A lot has been going on since HYBE labels took over K-pop agencies Source Music and Pledis Entertainment, among many others. Over the last few months, following the disbandment of GFriend (GFRIEND) and NU’EST, fans of both groups have started claiming in outrage that it was HYBE that forced them to disband. Source Music’s GFriend disbanded back in 2021 and Pledis Entertainment announced that NU’EST would disband in March 2022.

Now, a new report states that NU’EST’s Choi Min-gi, who goes by the stage name Ren, is in talks with the label Big Planet Made which has many LOVEs or L.O.Λ.E’s (fans of NU’EST) hopeful for something more from the group. On April 11, it was reported that Ren was in talks with Big Planet Made to join the label as their new artist. Big Planet Made is the same label that is home to the re-debuted girl group VIVIZ, which is made of members from GFRIEND. VIVIZ debuted in February 2022 as a trio with SinB, Umji, and Eunha, who were formerly members of GFriend.

Will NU’EST redebut?

While nothing has been confirmed, sources from the label claim that Ren is in talks to join the company as an artist. When the group announced its disbandment first in February 2022, Ren wrote a heartfelt letter to fans and shared the news that he was going to embark upon a new journey soon and wished for fans to support him. But the fact that Ren has chosen to sign with Big Planet Made, the label that facilitated former GFriend members to re-debut as VIVIZ, has many fans hopeful.

Fans wish that NU’EST too gets to re-debut under a label like Big Planet Made. Some fans also claim that NU’EST is capable of starting their own label as the boy group Highlight has done. One fan said, "I’ve been a casual listener to NU’EST since their debut and I really do feel for their fans because something is off with this. They could redebut at some point, pull a VIVIZ or Highlight." One fan hoped, "So since NU’EST is pulling a gfriend for obvious reason, can we get jronren redebut as viviz 2.0?"

Another fan said, "Nuest can redebut with the ugliest name ever and ill still knee in front of them." One fan wished, "Hope Aron and JR join too.. They could be trio just like vvz." One fan joked, "Get more nuest members then redebut."
