Chris Pratt reveals major condition to return to 'Jurassic World 5' alongside MCU alum: 'I think that...'
'Jurassic World' star Chris Pratt had one condition if he were to reprise his role as Owen Grady in a future sequel. His comment came on the back of the success of 'Jurassic World: Rebirth', starring his MCU alum, Scarlett Johansson, and Jonathan Bailey.
While Pratt has been seen in a lot of franchise projects, including Peter Quill/Star-Lord in the MCU, fans are eager to see him work with Johannson. In his recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, he was asked if there was a possibility of Grady returning to the world of dinosaurs, and the 'Terminal List' star kept it candid. "I think that it would be epic. We'd just have to do it in a way that honors the stories that we told the first three times."
At the time of writing, 'Rebirth’ Writer David Koepp weighed in on the possibility of future movies. "That was a specific conversation we had. Do we need to throw to the future in this?" he told THR. I thought occasionally about planting a little something here or there that might be helpful."
"But honestly, it’s a bad idea to do that, and they’re the first things to [get cut from a script] if they’re remotely in the way. It is so hard to make one good movie — speaking as someone who’s both succeeded and failed at making a good movie. There are so many ways to go awry. Thinking about the future is like the dumbest thing you can do. So it was: Let’s make this work. If it works, people will like it. And then maybe there can be another one."
Previously, Johnansson spoke of the challenges she faced when filming 'Rebirth'. Speaking to Today, "You’d be making coffee at the coffee table and then two minutes later (someone would say), ‘You know what they just found at the coffee table? They just got a scorpion.’ And you’re like, ‘What!?’ Like, I was just making myself a coffee right there,” says Johansson. “We had a venomous pit crew. Isn’t that crazy?"
Coming back to Pratt, the actor is now making headlines with 'Mercy', a sci-fi thriller alongside Rebecca Ferguson. The plot sees him with 90 minutes to prove his innocence to an AI judge (Ferguson) he once championed, before it decides his fate. The official logline per Deadline reads, "Detective Raven, the architect of a system whereby accused felons have 90 minutes to prove their innocence, is now convicted. He’s up against an AI judge (Ferguson), and he doesn’t know how this occurred. Pratt’s Raven gets help from his partner (Kali Reis), who helps him retraces his steps."
'Jurassic World: Rebirth' is streaming on Disney+.
