Will BTS perform 'Run BTS' on stage? RM's words reassure fans hopeful for a performance

BTS' leader RM aka Kim Namjoon's recent words reassure fans that the boy group may soon perform the fan favorite single, 'Run BTS' from 'Proof'

BTS made their comeback with their first anthology album, 'Proof', that broke the internet for all the right reasons. The boy group released the album with not one but five new songs as well as a re-released old single. With 'Yet To Come' as its title track, the album had other fan-favorite releases from BTS' nine-year-long journey in the K-pop industry. Despite that, there is always something different about new releases from BTS. Among the other new songs that were dropped with 'Proof' namely, 'For Youth', 'Run BTS', 'Ambiguous Relationship', 'Young Love', fans have been loving the single, 'Run BTS', which is outside BTS' original element.

The pop rock song, 'Run BTS', is written by members Jungkook as well as the rapline of BTS aka RM (Kim Namjoon), Suga and J-Hope but all seven members of the group have participated in the song. As the song is pretty different from BTS' regular music, fans have really taken with the song so much so that the single entered Billboard's Hot 100 chart at number 73 without even being promoted by BTS or their label, HYBE. The single released as the first track on CD 2 of 'Proof' but is a viral sensation with fan edits on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels. Due to this, fans had been hoping to see BTS perform the single at music shows but reports from before BTS' comeback stated that the song was unfit for television broadcast.

RM talks about a 'Run BTS' performance

Ahead of BTS' comeback, a report from music shows stated that out of the several new songs on 'Proof', only the singles 'Yet To Come' and 'For Youth' were given a green signal to be performed at music shows leaving 'Born Singer' (a re-released song) and 'Run BTS', the only other 'new' tracks aside. The upbeat b-side track 'Run BTS', despite being a fan-favorite was never really performed on stage which is why fans of the boy group have now gotten excited after BTS' leader addresses the song.

Fans of BTS began comparing the new single, 'Run BTS' to BTS' 2020 release 'Louder Than Bombs' which was another BTS single that was never performed on stage despite being immensely loved by fans. This is why RM's words have reassured ARMYs that there is hope for 'Run BTS'. In a recently released video from BTS members on their YouTube channel Bangtan TV, the song was discussed with RM, Suga and Jin of BTS who all shared their love for 'Run BTS'.

The song is not only a fan-favorite but at the top in the books of BTS members too as Jin stated that he had a lot of fun recording the song. RM on the other hand stated that he was sure fans would love 'Run BTS' more than the other b-side track, 'For Youth'. As 'Run BTS' matched the vibe of BTS, RM stated that he actually tried to envision a performance on the single while recording it. He said, "When I recorded the song I wanted the performance to be exciting and for the listeners to be excited as well. So I focused on making the song as exciting as possible." 

'Waiting for a 'Run BTS' performance'

Fans are now losing their calm as they anticipate a 'Run BTS' performance from the boy group some time in the future as one fan said, "SO THAT MEANS WE WILL HAVE A BTS RUN PERFORMANCE???" One fan shared, "I don't know when we can get run BTS live performance. So enjoy run BTS by jeon jungkook. He rock the rap part!" Another fan said, "So is he saying rUN BTS PERFORMANCE?? WHERE?" One fan said, "Me writing a formal email to bighit after we didn’t get a live performance of run bts."

One fan said, "ME WAITING FOR A "RUN BTS" PERFORMANCE." A fan joked, "One smack from this man will have u seeing into the future like the first performance of run bts, choreo n everything." One fan said, "Bruh they wore that run bts ass outfit for yet to come plzzzz lmao I hope they can do their own YouTube performance to run bts plzzz."
