Why was Summer Brooke eliminated? Mountain girl asked to work on 'breath support' as no 'The Voice' coach turns for her
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Summer Brooke McMahan performed Lauren Daigle's 'Hold On To Me' during her blind auditions for Night 3 of 'The Voice' Season 25. However, the 'Mountain Girl' did not impress any coach with her "pitch issues."
Summer saw 'The Voice' as an opportunity to revive her goal of pursuing a career in music. The coaches, however, did not approve of her interpretation of 'Hold on to Me.'
Dan + Shay claim their hearts hurt, and they didn't turn back, but they did notice some pitch difficulties, which might be due to nerves. Shay Mooney mentioned "a little bit of pitch issues," but "highly recommended" that she return next year.
Reba McEntire advised her to "relax" her vibrato and "use sparingly." John Legend agreed that the pitch was a concern and that she might improve her breath support. John believes she has a wonderful voice, although it was a touch pitchy at times, and that if she came back and performed again, she would nail it.
'The Voice' Season 25 fans slam coaches for not turning for Summer Brooke
Summer, a North Carolina native who describes herself as "100% a mountain girl," grew up in a household that loved bluegrass music and attended church. She was part of a singing group that was on its way to fame before 2020, but they split up that year, so the show was her chance to continue her ambition of pursuing a career in music.
Fans quickly took to social media to call out the judges. On X, fans asked, "Why didn’t anyone turn for Summer? She sang in the best singing style. I hope she comes back next year." Another user chimed in, "Summer Brooke was born for this. Came in with that folksy vocal, lotta soul, reached for those high notes and brought it sweetly down. No coaches turned."

'The Voice' Season 25 singer Summer Brooke was part of a family band
Summer is thirty years old and from North Carolina. Her family created a band called Mountain Faith, which performed three to four times every weekend, but gradually expanded to include Blue Grass events.
Summer had the opportunity to perform at the Grand Ole Opry. When Covid struck, the band broke up, and she went on to work as a second-grade teacher.
'The Voice' Season 25 singer Summer Brooke is also a children's author
Summer has lately started writing novels, and three of them are currently accessible under her name. Addie's Appalachian Home and The Little Fiddler are both children's novels, while She Will Not Fail: A Successful Life in God's Eyes is an inspirational narrative about her own life.
All three are based on her life and her reaction to seeing how many girls and young women were inspired by Summer's confidence and calm demeanor on television, on stage, and during televised sports coverage.
Summer stopped creating songs when the band's tour ended, since they weren't producing records anymore. So, one day, the concept came to her mind concerning children's books.
The children's novels are self-published and available on Amazon, while She Will Not Fail is published by Trilogy and available on Walmart.com, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon. Summer has been working on this motivating book for years! She has some additional ideas for children's books in the future.
'The Voice' Season 25 airs on NBC at 8 pm on Mondays and Tuesdays. The episodes will be available on Peacock on demand the next day. The streaming site also includes entire episodes from the show's prior seasons.
