UNIVERSAL CITY, CALIFORNIA: All five finalists on 'The Voice' took a spin around the stage on May 21, but only one did a victory lap. As Asher HaVon was proclaimed Season 25's winner, spectators couldn't help but notice one coach, John Legend, who appeared very upset.

Prior to the initial announcement of the finalists' placements, the group acknowledged their coaches for their leadership and assistance throughout the season. Karen Waldrup finished in fifth place.

Nathan Chester finished in fourth place. Bryan Olesen finished third.

Finally, Asher has been named the winner of 'The Voice' Season 25. Amidst it all, some fans couldn't help but notice, John being totally upset over his loss.

On Reddit, a user wrote, "John Legend seemed upset about Nathan, but he was saying Asher was the best vocalist left in the competition yesterday, how would that not sway viewers away from his team?" One user felt, "I definitely think John screwed his team over a bit with his comments about Asher being the best. Don't get me wrong, Asher is fantastic and definitely deserved his win, but I don't think that was a very smart move on John's part."

On X, fans asked, "John legend shouldve super saved lennon because he’d actually have the appreciation he deserves, so upset that he’s gone!" Another questioned, "I just turned on The Voice and John Legend is crying? Why?"



 



 

One user also noted, "John legend hasn’t had an artist finish top 2 since his first season as a coach …." Another user added, "You could tell John was shocked when they announced Nathan 4th. Not only you John. Not only you."



 



 

Why is John Legend not returning to 'The Voice'?

'The Voice' Season 26's new coaching panel was revealed, and fans were shocked to learn that John would not be returning. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the "All of Me" singer gave an explanation for his absence, expressing both sadness and eagerness for the next season.

“We’ve always got so many things going on. I’ll be doing a lot of shows this summer and traveling overseas,” John shared. 

“I’ll be back… If only I were actually going to take a break!” Despite his sabbatical, John is excited about the new faces on the show.

Who are the new coaches for 'The Voice' Season 26?

Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani will return as coaches on Season 26 of 'The Voice'. They'll be joined by new coaches, Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg.

The rapper was a big mentor in Season 20, and Michael advised Blake Shelton's squad in Season 3.
