Why Knetz still hate Kim Garam despite claims she defended a friend verbally: 'Isn’t normal'

Most international fans are siding with the ex-Le Sserafim star as she revealed she has never physically assaulted nor bullied anyone

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: While a majority of international fans are now reconsidering their position on Kim Garam’s school bullying scandal, Knetz still haven’t changed their stance. Months after the scandal broke out, the former Le Sserafim star finally got a chance to speak out. Following her termination of the contract with HYBE, Garam shared two lengthy posts claiming her innocence. In the first post, she denied all accusations and claimed she had never bullied anyone. In the second post, she shared the school violence committee record which revealed why she got a level 5 punishment.

According to the school violence committee record shared by Kim Garam, she was punished for verbally threatening the alleged victim Yoo Eun-seo. The latter had posted a naked picture of Garam’s friend on Facebook. She had also apparently spread false rumors in a new school that she had been bullied by Garam after transferring. In response, Kim Garam and her friends met Eun-seo and made a group chat to verbally abuse her. In the Instagram post, the former K-pop idol shared that she was just defending her friend whose photograph was shared online.

Kim Garam shares she never bullied anyone

In the school violence committee records, nowhere does it state that Garam physically abused anyone or was rude to teachers, disabled classmates or anyone other than Eun-seo. Kim Garam got a level 5 punishment for bad-mouthing Eun-seo, being involved in the molka incident (sharing a naked photo), swearing online and at students of other schools (Eun-seo’s friends). However, Knetz are still not siding with Garam and continue to share hate comments. South Korea is extremely intolerant when it comes to school bullying as it is severe with school kids bullying classmates by physically assaulting them.

Several of the kids are iljins (rich school bullies) which is why it is difficult to punish them. Knetz think that there must be something else that Kim Garam is hiding which is why the school gave her a level 5 punishment, the highest form of punishment. There were also other rumors that Kim Garam was obsessed with sex as she allegedly drew crude pictures on chalkboards and made crude remarks on the likes of BTS’ V and Le Sserafim’s Sakura. With Garam not addressing these rumors, Knetz are bringing it up.

‘A normal student wouldn’t get involved’

They made comments like, “But in the end, she was still slapped with the 5th disposition but now, she wants to claim everything was YES' fault is that it,” “So you're telling me that what she did on that chalkboard was something 'normal students' would do,” and “Who cares about the other party or whateverㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ The chalkboard and her Facebook pictures gave everything away already.” Another claimed, “Birds of a feather fighting between themselves, all I gathered is that she's still not your average student.”

One Knetz wondered, “So she was an iljin? ㅋㅋ She's fighting with people talksh*tting on her, fighting with the person who took a picture, etc. This isn't some normal behavior. They were birds of a feather. But why is she talking about "I'll work hard"? Didn't they dissolve her contract and kicked her out? Seeing her statement, it seems like she wants to come out again, or did she already sign with another company? Looks like she'll be either going solo, promote in a group or go in acting.” Another added, “A normal student wouldn't even get involved with any of the things she got involved with.”

This has led to some international fans getting confused, “Knetz focusing on garam's cursing and ignoring the fact that they're defending Eunseo who spread a pic of someone in underwear.” Another wondered, “What kind of mental gymnastics are knetz performing for them to still think, garam deserved to leave the group for something she did when she was 12??? She was defending her friend and cursed while doing so, and??” One shared that it wasn’t all black and white, “Garam position is hard to explain, she's also wrong but not 100% wrong. can't you see knetz's comment is still blaming him? Even when she gave that proof knetz still hate her.”
