The Instagram account reveals why Kim Garam got the level 5 punishment (Le Sserafim/Weverse)

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: Kim Garam’s school bullying scandal is getting out of hand despite HYBE terminating their contract with her and taking her out of the K-pop group Le Sserafim. After the Internet canceled her for allegedly bullying and physically assaulting classmates, the former idol disappeared from the general public. Well, late night on August 10, a new Instagram account claiming to be Kim Garam's friend shared two lengthy posts saying that she was innocent. While her fans immediately took to trusting the posts, others felt it was a troll trying to get clout.

The Instagram account @y__urm first shared a letter allegedly by Garam stating that she had never physically assaulted anyone. She made a list of the accusations and denied them – she had never been forced to transfer, never smoked or drank and never bullied anyone. Garam said the same things that HYBE had shared in their initial statement that the ex-Le Sserafim star was simply defending a friend and had only verbally abused Yoo Eun-seo, the alleged victim. She then posted all of the records of the school violence committee meeting and the incident that led to her getting a level 5 punishment. Well, HYBE has also responded to new post that has led to many believing that it is the real Kim Garam’s posts.

HYBE comments on Kim Garam’s Instagram posts

Back in July, there were rumors that Kim Garam had gone back to school and was being bullied from the swear words written on her desk. While HYBE was silent on the matter, fans brought evidence proving it was false since the image of the desk was taken in 2018. Well, with HYBE responding to the two posts on the anonymous Instagram account, fans think it must be real. A few hours after Kim Garam posted, HYBE shared on August 11, “As we have terminated the exclusive contract with Kim Garam, we have no further comment to say because it is would be inappropriate.”

While fans now believe that the two posts were by Kim Garam as she also posted the school violence record which no troll would have access to, Knetizens have a different response. Many are bashing HYBE for cutting ties so ruthlessly with a 16-year-old. They made comments like, “They were the ones who blew up this whole scandal... they are delusional, “They must've known about her to some extent but still decided to debut her and now are backstabbing her,” and “Aigo, they should at least apologize for the 2ndary assault. They are trying to get out of this so quick.” Many feel that HYBE is the secondary assailant as they neither cleared Garam’s name nor resolved the matter if the victim was indeed telling the truth. Another Knetz wrote, “It's true that they shouldn't be mentioning her since they cut her contract but it's funny from HYBE since they were the secondary assailants.”

'You abandoned this 16 year old'

An angry fan tweeted, “You abandoned this 16 year old when she needed YOUR HELP the most and now you protect your artists who are getting ‘so called hate’. APOLOGISE TO GARAM.” Another shared, “I agree that hybe shouldn't be expected to comment on this anymore, but I still think they made her situation worse by being very adamant publicly that these claims were false (threatening to sue a gd minor). Then out of blue sky after all of that they drop her.” But one user reasoned, “That’s how a company works. once their employees are resigned or fired, it’s not their responsibility anymore. it’s not like the company is being harsh but that’s just how it works.”
