AGOURA HILLS, CALIFORNIA: After the recent hometown dates got wrapped, 'The Bachelor' Season 22 star Maria Georgas got eliminated.

She interrupted Joey Graziadei right before he was about to give out the first rose of the night. Maria wanted to have a private moment with him to confess that she was falling in love.

Unfortunately, despite her sincere admission, it did not save her from being eliminated. Joey explained that he had too many doubts about their relationship, leading to the end of their journey in the competition.

Meanwhile, Joey's decision to eliminate Maria garnered praise from some who applauded his straightforward approach to removing her from the competition.

However, reactions on the internet were mixed, with a portion expressing disappointment over Maria's elimination. On the flip side, some viewers felt content and even happy with Joey's choice, believing that Maria did not deserve to continue in the competition.

Viewers accused her of playing games or pretending to be a part of the show for the wrong reasons.

"I love Maria but she deserved that, she was playing games for far too long," a user on Reddit said. "Yeah he was over it," replied another.

"That’s how I saw it too. Her communication style is very unsettling. I wouldn’t want to be with someone who sends so many mixed messages either.," said one.

Another suggested that they'd rather see Maria in 'House of Villains' as many claim she is the next Bachelorette, "I’d rather see Maria on BIP and then in House of Villains than as Bachelorette." "Maria gives just enough sucumbus to make an excellent ett," replied another.

However, Maria's elimination sure came as a shock to her fans, who thought she was on good terms with Joey.

During elimination, Joey said, "We’ve had a bumpy road, but you know I fought for you every time and I’ve chosen us."

He elaborated, "And I've tried everything in my power to get to the point of continuing to see a future. And I went into hometowns with you very open and ready to see what came next. And you said everything I needed to hear."

'The Bachelor' star then explained to Maria that he felt it would be 'dishonest' to move forward with her because of 'the amount of doubts that I have.'

Will Maria Georgas be the next 'Bachelorette'?

As of now, the next Bachelorette has not been officially confirmed, and determining the lead often hinges on the contestants who emerge as fan favorites during the season.

The show's history suggests that the chosen Bachelorette is usually someone viewers deem deserving and compelling.

In the case of Maria Georgas, the internet buzz suggests that she gained strength in her portrayal over the last few weeks.

Despite this positive perception, she faced an unexpected elimination, leaving fans both surprised and disappointed as they had seen her as a strong contender for the coveted role.

Fans of 'The Bachelor' expressed their views on social media and rooted for Maria Georgas as the next Bachelorette. A user wrote, "#TheBachelor wishing the best for Maria and Joey…. but I NEED Maria to be the bachelorette@BachelorABC it’s what she deserves." "MARIA AS THE NEXT BACHELORETTE WHO SAYS NO," added another. "Starting the campaign for Maria as the next bachelorette," said another fan. "I’m so tired of confident, opinionated women being branded as “bullies” on shows like 'The Bachelor', Maria for Bachelorette," added one.
