LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: NBC is currently airing the latest season of its popular true crime show 'Dateline' with a set of new interesting episodes that will have you on the edge of your seat. Continuing the old format, the show is going into considerable detail about mysterious and infamous cases of murder and other crimes. 

Season 31 is coming out with new cases every week on Friday. But to its fans' dismay, NBC will not be airing a new episode this Friday, and here is the reason why there is a rerun instead. 

Why is NBC's 'Dateline' Season 31 Episode 41 not airing this week?

NBC's 'Dateline' Season 31 Episode 41 release date has been postponed by a week. The network has not revealed why it is running an old episode instead. 

Previously, NBC postponed another new episode's broadcast. According to TV Regular, the new episode was postponed because of the US Open Second Round that took place at the Los Angeles Country Club. Instead of the new episode number 31, the 2023 US Open Golf Championship aired on the channel.

NBC's 'Dateline' Season 31 Episode 41 is scheduled to return after a week's gap. The new episode will release on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 8 pm ET on NBC.

What to expect from NBC's 'Dateline' Season 31 Episode 41?

Nothing has been revealed as of yet about the details of the next new episode of 'Dateline' by NBC. It seems that the rerun was planned for a while before they decided to include it in the run of Season 31. 

The description on the official website of the upcoming episode titled 'Sex, Lies and Murder' says: "When a mother from an upscale Detroit suburb is murdered, an investigation reveals dark family secrets." The episode will cover the infamous murder case of Jane Bashara, whose husband was involved in her brutal killing.
