Pfeifer finally breaks silence on why she skipped ‘Age of Attraction’ reunion: ‘This is just not…’
After weeks of fans asking and hoping someone would spill something, the reunion for ‘Age of Attraction’ Season 1 is officially happening. It will land on YouTube, specifically through The Viall Files. The Netflix special will be hosted by Nick Viall and Natalie Joy, and it is scheduled to premiere on April 1 at 4 p.m. PT, or 7 p.m. ET for those watching from the East Coast. And if the early footage is anything to go by, it is not going to be a quiet sit-down where everyone nods politely and gives safe answers. The trailer already hints at updates from several couples who walked out of the Promise Room together. The returning pairs include Theresa and John, Vanessa and Logan, Leah and Chris, Libby and Andrew, and Vanelle and Jorge. All of them are expected to talk about where things stand now, months after filming wrapped last summer.
However, while most familiar faces are accounted for, one absence has quickly become the elephant in the room. Interestingly, the show itself does not even try to hide it. In the reunion trailer, Nick openly points it out, saying, “It looks like Pfeifer is not here. Does anyone know where she is?” The question is left hanging there with no answer offered. For anyone who watched the finale, that absence feels even more loaded. Pfeifer and Derrick had one of those storylines that seemed to be heading somewhere serious. Pfeifer expressed her willingness to relocate from Seattle to Dallas to build a life with Derrick and his children. But things clearly did not go the way viewers had expected.
In a now-private interview with Entertainment Tonight, Derrick addressed the situation rather directly when asked whether that move had actually happened, and his response did not leave much room for interpretation: “That’s a negative for us. It didn’t happen…I’m no longer with Pfeifer.” So that answers part of the story. What it does not explain, though, is why Pfeifer herself is missing from the reunion. Naturally, people started connecting dots as they noticed her social media activity around the same time. From what can be seen online, she appeared to be traveling in Japan during the period when reunion-related content and press were being recorded.
@phillvtheworld Replying to @monique90416 (part 1/2) i’m probably number one worst person at PDA so i understand why it looked like we had no chemistry sometimes…not defending anything just sharing my perspective — #ageofattraction #realitytv #pda #physicaltouch #behindthescenes ♬ Syncopated Swing - Kairo Vibe
That could explain the absence in a very practical sense. Moreover, a fan even asked her directly about skipping the reunion in the comment section of one of her TikTok posts. Pfeifer responded with, “I can talk more on this after it airs on April 1st!” At the same time, she has made it clear that not everything behind the scenes turned sour. That’s because when a fan asked, “Why did you unfollow the entire cast?” she quickly shut it down, replying, “This is just not the case.” So now, fans will have to wait until the reunion airs to hear and finally understand why she wasn’t there.
