How old is Nick Viall? ‘Age of Attraction’ finally sheds light on host’s age difference with Natalie Joy
Over the years, Netflix has been consistently trying to answer the question of whether love is really blind. The search led the streaming platform giant to capture the imagination of countless singles worldwide with its social experiment show 'Love Is Blind'. Now, turning a new leaf, Netflix intends to pose another question to the audience: Is love truly ageless? 'Bachelor in Paradise' star and celebrity podcaster Nick Viall and his wife, Natalie Joy Viall, are teaming up to present the latest social experiment cum reality television show on Netflix, 'Age of Attraction.' As the title suggests, the contestants' ages and the age gap between partners will play a determining role in the new show.
Although Viall is a familiar face on reality television, having previously showcased his quest for love in Season 3 of 'Bachelor In Paradise', Season 21 of 'The Bachelor', as well as Seasons 10 and 11 of 'The Bachelorette,' but that isn't the reason why he and his wife are the perfect pick to host 'Age of Attraction.'
The real reason is that, for both Viall and Joy, age is just a number. The couple has an age gap of 18 years. Viall was born in 1980 and is 45, while Joy, a certified surgical technologist, was born in 1998 and is 27.
The couple began dating in 2020 after Joy slid into his Instagram DMs, and they exchanged vows in 2024 at Joy's family farm in Georgia. In February 2024, Joy gave birth to their firstborn daughter, River Rose Viall. She is currently pregnant with twin girls.
Under Viall and Joy's supervision, 'Age of Attraction' will bring together a wide range of single contestants, from their 20s to their 60s. Once they have chosen their partner, the real test will begin: whether the age difference will solidify their relationship or jeopardise it. The couples will also have to make sure that their friends and families accept their relationship in good faith.
The official Netflix synopsis reads, "In this new dating experiment, which is streaming now, it simply does not matter how many candles were on your last birthday cake or how few wrinkles have formed on your forehead. Age is thrown out the window as singles search for their soulmates with help from hosts and married couple Nick Viall and Natalie Joy."
The synopsis further continues, "The daters range from 22 to 60 years old, so potential matches will see if age is just a number. Or will the years come between them?" The first five episodes are currently streaming on Netflix, with the next drops scheduled on March 18 and March 25.
