Why did Niall Horan leave 'The Voice'? Former One Directioner is the youngest coach to win the NBC show
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Voice' Season 25 is all set to release on Monday, February 26, 2024, at 8 pm ET on NBC. The coaches' panel will undergo some changes for the upcoming season.
John Legend and Reba McEntire will be returning as coaches for this season while Niall Horan and Gwen Stefani will be replaced on the NBC show by pop duo, Dan and Shay and Chance the Rapper.
Niall who is a much-loved coach in 'The Voice' won the hearts of the viewers with his wit, intelligence, and great mentorship skills.
He even made history as the youngest coach to win the NBC show. However, as per the sneak peek shared by the show's Instagram page, he will not be a part of 'The Voice' Season 25.
Even though the former One Directioner has not yet announced the reason for his exit from the show it seems like he will be concentrating on his musical tours in 2024.
He is starting his 'The Show Live on Tour' in the UK on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from Belfast, UK.
The tour is all set to hit different cities around the world through September and also the US in the summers. The last show for this tour will be on September 3, 2024, in London, UK.
On June 3, 2022, Niall Horan announced the dates of his tour. He also left a heartfelt note thanking his fans for the wonderful response.
He captioned, "I cannot believe the response there’s been to these shows already. It’s been years since I’ve last toured so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Thank you for your patience and for welcoming me back with open arms. Some new shows have been added in Los Angeles, Toronto, Dublin, Belfast, Amsterdam, and Melbourne so I can see even more of your beautiful faces. I’m so excited to get back on the road. I will make sure this is the best show possible for all of you."
It feels like Niall is all set to focus on his music now and one can expect new albums too.
Why did coach Niall Horan leave the 'The Voice' Season 24 midway?
Niall Horan revealed on a Zoom call to his Team on Episode 14 of Season 24 that he had to leave the show due to his tour schedule.
He stated, "I've got a bit of news for you. Because of my concert schedule, I won’t be in town for knockout rehearsals. Because I won’t be there, I’ve chosen another coach to mentor you guys during your rehearsals," Niall continued, “And it’s not just one coach. It’s two."
He announced that he is replaced by the country singer-pop duo Dan and Shay. Niall performed for around 12 music festivals including The Boston Calling Festival 2023 in Boston, Lollapalooza Paris 2023, Summer Sonic Tokyo in Chiba, Japan, and many more.
Given the knockout rounds were filmed before 'The Voice' premieres the episodes were filmed across the summer of 2023 when Niall was busy with the music festivals.
The pop duo Dan and Shay will be seen as coaches for 'The Voice' Season 25 and mentoring in Season 24 served as a warm-up session for them.
How many 'The Voice' seasons did Niall Horan win?
'The Voice' ex-coach Niall Horan made history with his win in Season 24. The former One Direction star joined 'The Voice' in Season 23 alongside Kelly Clarkson, Chance the Rapper and Blake Shelton.
He won NBC's singing competition twice, the first was with 19-year-old singer Gina Miles in Season 23 and 33-year-old blues rock singer and songwriter Michael Huntley in Season 24.
Viewers feel they share the same capability as Blake Shelton of guiding the contestants to win the show.
Will Niall Horan return for future seasons of 'The Voice'?
There is a chance that Niall Horan can return for the upcoming seasons of 'The Voice'.
Viewers have already tagged him as 'the son of Blake Shelton' as he had two successful seasons since he joined the panel on Season 23 with two back-to-back wins.
The singer also has a steady fan following which brings viewership to the NBC show and some have even expressed their disappointment as he won't be part of Season 25.
However, there is a chance that he can return to 'The Voice' in the next season as the show premieres in mid to late September.
Neither Niall nor the makers have confirmed the judging panel of 'The Voice' upcoming seasons.
