SUVA, FIJI: 'Love Island USA' Season 2 couple Cely Vazquez and Johnny Middlebrooks' relationship unfortunately ended just six months after they left the villa.
Although the now ex-couple didn't reveal exactly why they parted ways, Cely hinted that they wanted to focus on their "personal journey."
In January 2021, Cely shared a lengthy statement on Twitter and wrote, "I wanted to share with you that Johnny and I are no longer together."
She added, "Now it's simply time for each of us to focus on our own personal journey."
Meanwhile, Johnny first shared Cely's tweet, then wrote on his Instagram Stories, "I'm appreciative of the time we spent together on this unforgettable journey. I will forever cherish the fun we had, the laughs we shared, and the memories we created."
However, Johnny and Cely are ready to give a new shot to love in the Peacock show spinoff, 'Love Island Games'.
The ex-couple would be reunited for the first time after their messy split.
Meanwhile, in the dramatic trailer of 'Love Island Game', Cely announced to the cameras, "Are y'all sh*tting me? You really brought my ex in."
Johnny Middlebrooks slams Cely Vazquez for misleading fans
After Cely Vazquez announced her split with Johnny Middlebrooks, the 'Love Island' star cleared some misconceptions about him.
He took to his social media to share a video and slammed his ex-girlfriend, Cely, for misleading the fans about their breakup.
In a now-deleted Instagram video, Johnny cleared up that their breakup was 'a mutual agreement' and that they haven't spoken since January 6, 2021.
He noted that he was bothered by Cely constantly implying that "something negative" happened between them.
Johnny also reacted to Cely's video and said, "She makes a YouTube video less than 24 hours [after mine] and the entire time she's throwing shots at me." He then dubbed Cely "messy."

Johnny Middlebrooks and Cely Vazquez had a spark since they coupled up in the villa. The viewers also hoped that they would win 'Love Island USA' Season 2.
However, things changed with Casa Amor's twist. Despite having such a strong connection with Cely all season long, Johnny was attracted to Casa Amor bombshell Mercedes Schell.
They had a fling and spent quite a romantic time together, meanwhile, Cely remained truthful to him.
Meanwhile, when Johnny returned to the Las Vegas villa, he told Cely what happened and she was quick to forgive him.
