NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Today’ host Al Roker recently snapped at co-hosts Craig Melvin and Dylan Dreyer in a behind-the-scenes video filmed from the morning show’s studio.

Roker is popularly known for sharing insights about his personal and professional life and teasing his fellow hosts on-air. Recently, the meteorologist caught his co-hosts Melvin and Dreyer off-guard as he mocked them during an Instagram live on Tuesday just before they began ‘Today’ show. Although many fans thanked Roker for sharing a BTS from the studio, it was seemingly unfortunate for Melvin and Dreyer.

Why did Al Roker attack, Craig Melvin and Dylan Dreyer?

In a recent Instagram video shared by Al Roker, the 68-year-old weatherman let ‘Today’ viewers in on secrets from behind the scenes of the morning show. Roker was seen filming the busy crew on the New York set as they prepared for the show, making adjustments and setting up. He spoke to a stage manager and mentioned the upcoming lottery draw on Wednesday. Playfully, Roker called out his co-hosts Dreyer and Melvin, as Dreyer arrived just one minute before filming. He said, “We've got to hit Dylan up. Dylan, of course, will not have the money. Dylan - while we all know that Craig's cheap - Dylan is the secret cheapster.” Despite the playful jab, Roker complimented Dreyer on her yellow dress, playfully exclaiming, "Bringing the sunshine!"

Al Roker reminiscence his past mocking of Craig Melvin

Al Roker's recent joke about Dreyer's arrival was a playful callback to a previous moment on the show. In a "by the numbers" segment about Super Bowl spending, hosts welcomed Brian Chung, ‘Today’ business and data reporter. Melvin introduced the segment as Brian shared that the average price of a hot dog and beer at the game was $18, to which Melvin reacted with humor, exclaiming, “That’s shameful! $18 for a hot dog and a beer? That is shameful. They should throw in the hot dog!” Roker then playfully mocked Melvin, imagining him refusing to buy a hot dog for his son Dell at the stadium, offering only a bag of popcorn. He said, “I can see [Craig's son] Dell now at the stadium. 'Daddy, can we have a hot dog?' 'No! I brought this bag of popcorn in here. You eat that and be happy.'” The lighthearted exchange between the co-hosts elicited laughter from the others on the show as Melvin replied, “You know me well,” followed by laughter as Craig added, “Eat before you go.”
