LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Can Bjork finally get a break? Fans are unhappy since the Icelandic singer-songwriter was not recognized at the Grammys on Sunday night.

The Recording Academy likes Bjork, but only to a point. She had 15 previous Grammy nominations and 15 previous Grammy losses, making her one of the most nominated artists in Grammy history without ever winning. Only conductor Zubin Mehta (18), rapper Snoop Dogg (17), and mastering engineer Chris Gehringer (17) are ahead of her. At this point, the Grammys are like Charlie Brown attempting to kick the football. Fans, however, were hopeful this time that this time might be different but were left in dismay.

Why was Bjork snubbed?

This year, Bjork got her 16th Grammy nomination for 'Fossora' for Best Alternative Music Album. It's her ninth nomination in the category, making her the most nominated woman in the award's history, the most nominated solo artist, and the second most nominated artist overall, trailing Thom Yorke, who has been honored 10 times for his solo work and fronting the band Radiohead. However, Radiohead has won three times, whereas Bjork is still looking for her first trophy.

However, according to fans, Bjork was the big fish in a little pond this year. She faced six-time category nominees Arcade Fire ('We'); they have never won this event, not even for 'The Suburbs', which won Album of the Year. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs ('Cool It Down') were nominated for this award for the fourth time, although, like Bjork, they have yet to win a Grammy. Big Thief ('Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You') was nominated for their second Grammy in this category and their third overall, however, they did not win. And Wet Leg ('Wet Leg') was up for three prizes this year, including Best New Artist.

Fans react at Bjork 16th Grammy snub

Wet Leg's 'Wet Leg' took home the award for Best Alternative Music Album at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards. Fans went to social media to blast the producers for yet another Grammy rejection for Bjork. One of them quipped, "Bjork counting her grammy losses." One person asked, "How did she lose to f*cking wet leg." Another wondered, "Why do they keep nominating her." A fourth person tweeted, "Grammys keep doing bjork wrong for no reason pleeeease."

Disappointed at the Grammys, a fan wrote, "If I do the excruciating thing called 'caring about the Grammys', it'll be for this: Bjork has never won, and at this point in her career with her catalog, she should have. She certainly should have beaten the derivative-a*s faux-ironic dreck that was that Wet Leg album." One Twitter user further noted, "how did they go from no social media presence and barely any songs out when they toured w declan mckenna a year ago but are winning grammys over arctic monkeys and bjork now like you cant be serious." Beyonce fans were also not left far behind as one wrote, "I see the @Beyonce fans are experiencing what I went through a few hours ago after @bjork lost for the 16th time…. What must Bey do to win Album of the Year? What must Björk do to even win a Grammy?" One angry fan also tweeted, "bjork not having a single grammy is insane."
