After two contestants left the island in last week's episode, 'Survivor 50' raised the stakes in Episode 6, titled 'The Blood Moon,' which aired on April 1. At the start of the episode, contestants were told to drop their buffs as the Cila, Vatu, and Kalo tribes dissolved, ending old alliances. This forced contestants to come up with new game plans as they were shuffled into smaller groups. The 'Blood Moon' twist was then introduced, causing chaos with three Tribal Councils and three vote-outs. "Ancient civilizations feared a Blood Moon. They saw it as a warning. A sign of upheaval, even impending death. And that's how you should see it as well," host Jeff Probst said. After the shocking twist, Kamilla Karthigesu, Genevieve Mushaluk, and Colby Donaldson became the eighth, ninth, and tenth contestants to be voted out and sent home.

The 17 castaways of 'Survivor 50' headed deep into the jungle in search of an advantage. Ozzy found the advantage and chose Rizo to join him at Exile Island, exempting them from this week's Tribal Council. The duo spent the night on the island and agreed to team up with Cirie going forward. The other 15 members were split into three smaller groups of five for this season's first individual immunity challenge. The teal group included Coach, Dee, Cirie, Emily, and Colby. The purple group featured Christian, Joe, Genevieve, Aubry, and Rick, while Chrissy, Tiffany, Stephenie, Kamilla, and Jonathan were part of the orange group.

The immunity challenge was an endurance task where contestants had to stand on a series of increasingly small foot pegs. Stephenie lasted the longest, earning immunity for herself and a reward for her group. Host Jeff Probst sent the group to the nearest Applebee's Neighborhood Grill + Bar to feast on their favorites from the menu and enjoy a small break from the game. Meanwhile, Christian and Dee lasted the longest in their respective groups and won individual immunities that saved them from this week's vote-outs.

The orange group headed for the episode's first Tribal Council, where Jonathan sided with Chrissy and Stephenie in voting against Kamilla, while she and Tiffany went after Chrissy. Hence, Kamilla, the 4th place finisher on 'Survivor 48,' was voted out 3-2. Before leaving, Kamilla told Tiffany to "drag that man through the mud." Meanwhile, Genevieve was the target in the purple group after Aubry shared that she would use her idol to protect herself. Genevieve made a last-ditch effort to save herself with a Shot in the Dark, but it turned out to be 'Not Safe.' The 34-year-old was voted out unanimously 4-0. The female majority in the teal group put Colby and Coach both in danger. In the end, Colby lost and was also unanimously voted out 4-0. Stay tuned to find out whose torch will be snuffed out next as new episodes air on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. only on CBS.
