'Survivor' 50's Christian Hubicki hilariously confronts Jimmy Fallon after latest twist: 'How dare you?'
Episode 9 of 'Survivor' 50 marked the first time that a contestant was forced to vote for themselves at Tribal Council. The episode, 'I Deserve All Of This,' aired on April 22 on CBS, with late-night talk show host Jimmy Fallon introducing the twist that led to Christian Hubicki's elimination. After Joe Hunter won the immunity challenge, he sent Christian to compete in a puzzle away from camp. While reading the rules in Fallon's notes, Christian discovered that he would have to vote himself out if he didn't complete the task within the given time. Sadly, he couldn't solve the puzzle and was forced to inform the entire tribe that he would have to write his own name at Tribal Council. Others followed suit and voted out the 'Survivor: David vs. Goliath' alum 6–3–2. In a strange coincidence, Hubicki predicted this outcome in the very first trailer for 'Survivor 50,' where he said, "Jimmy Fallon may decide my fate in this game."
On Thursday night, the robotics professor made his way to Rockefeller Center in New York for a chat with 'The Tonight Show' host. He was a guest on the episode alongside Kate Hudson and musician Noah Kahan. During the show, the host played a clip in which Christian is seen confronting Fallon, saying, "How dare you? This idea that you had, it's terrible. No more ideas for you. I look forward to your apology." The comedian then apologized for his 'Jimmy Fallon One in the Urn' twist, saying, "I am so sorry. It wasn't supposed to be like this. It wasn't supposed to be you. I felt so bad, because I love you." Fallon tried to cheer Hubicki up by pointing out that he made history with his vote, "No one's ever voted for themself, in 50 seasons of Survivor."
In the interview, Christian revealed that he did a 5-minute roast of the late-night show host at his last Tribal Council, most of which was cut. In his post-elimination interview on April 23, Christian teased his new beef with Fallon by telling Entertainment Weekly, "Maybe I get a chance to meet him. Maybe we will hit it off, and we will let this misunderstanding get past this. So long as there's some kind of mediator between us, I think we can hit a new understanding." However, the two made up during the interview, with Fallon calling the 39-year-old "one of the best players to ever play Survivor" before adding that he is looking forward to seeing him on the jury. Christian is the fourth jury member alongside Dee Valladares, Coach Wade, and Chrissy Hofbeck. Tune in next Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on CBS to see who gets voted out next on 'Survivor 50'.
