Another emotional chapter of the 'Hunger Games' franchise will hit the big screen in the form of ‘Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping.’ The movie will feature the return of many fan-favorite characters, albeit played by different actors. A recent tear-jerking promo puts the spotlight on Effie, Caesar, Coriolanus, and Wiress in their prime, 24 years ago, before the events of the 74th Hunger Games in the original trilogy. The promo kicks off with a brief recap of the last five movies in the franchise to ensure viewers are up to date with the events that have transpired in the world of Panem to date.

The promo helps the audience connect the previous and present iterations of characters by showcasing the different versions in their specific timelines. Amanda Plummer and Maya Hawke are shown playing Wiress in the 75th Hunger Games and 50th Hunger Games, respectively. The same trend is followed for Philip Seymour Hoffman and Jesse Plemons, who play Plutarch Heavensbee, Stanley Tucci and Kieran Culkin, who portray Caesar Flickerman, and Lynn Cohen and Lili Taylor, who bring Mags Flanagan to life. The clip also sees Jeffrey Wright and Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Beetee Latier,  Elizabeth Banks and Elle Fanning as Effie, Woody Harrelson and Joseph Zada as Haymitch Abernathy, and Donald Sutherland and Ralph Fiennes as President Coriolanus Snow.

The promo has been dubbed an "official lookback." It mostly features footage from both parts of 'Mockingjay', which concluded with Katniss and Peeta in a hopeful place. The clip also includes glimpses of the new movie right at the very end. It mainly highlights the characters who will return from the original trilogy to the prequel. The video includes flashbacks of the older versions of these characters in the original trilogy alongside their younger selves in the upcoming prequel, set to the voiceover "remember." The recurring voiceover by various characters is crucial, as it highlights how the memory of the horrors inflicted by the Capitol on these characters and their loved ones paves the way for the success of Katniss' eventual rebellion.

‘Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping’ follows Haymitch's victory in the 50th Hunger Games, or the second-ever Quarter Quell. It is adapted from the book of the same name, written by Suzanne Collins. Fans of the franchise were elated when it was announced that Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, who starred in the original trilogy as Katniss and Peeta, would be returning in the prequel.  This suggests that the prequel will somehow tie in with the original trilogy. The movie will be released in theaters worldwide on November 20, 2026.
