KUWAIT CITY, KUWAIT: Netflix brings its first original film from Kuwait in 'Honeymoonish' aka 'Shahr zii aleasal'. The film promises to be a quirky rom-com following Noor (Nour Al Ghandour) and Hamad (Mahmoud Boushahri) who discover their differences after they get married. 

The cast features both fresh talents and seasoned actors. The movie is written and directed by Elie Semaan who has previously directed 'Ashab Tlete' (2018) and 'Georges Wassouf: Byetkallem Aalaya' (2022).

'Honeymoonish' is set to release on Netflix on Monday, April 29. The official synopsis of the film reads, "Two newlyweds on their honeymoon discover that they are different in almost every way — but can these opposites attract?"

Nour Al Ghandour is an Egyptian actor and broadcaster who lives and works in Kuwait. She is a graduate of the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Kuwait. In 'Honeymoonish', she plays the role of Noor. 

She began her career as a broadcaster for the Al-Rai Channel but later transitioned to acting at the insistence of Muhammad AlAjaimi, who urged her to star in a series.

Her portrayal as one of the heroines in the series 'Female Student Housing' earned her widespread recognition and fame.

Since then, she has never looked back, starring in numerous productions such as 'Dofaat Al Qahira,' where she portrayed the significant role of Eqbal. The series garnered appreciation, solidifying her reputation in the industry.

Mahmoud Boushahri is a 42-year-old Iranian and Kuwaiti actor. His brother Abdullah Boushahri is also an actor and starred with him in the 2012 series 'Saher Al Lail 3: Watan Al Nahar'

He is recognized for starring in acclaimed films and series like 'Saher Al Lail 3: Watan Al Nahar', 'Alyoum Alaswad', and 'Black Crows'.

In 'Honeymoonish', he takes on the lead role of Hamad, a man who finds himself married to a woman who is his complete opposite.

Ascia Al Faraj, a Kuwaiti-American fashion blogger, influencer, and entrepreneur, makes her acting debut in 'Honeymoonish', portraying the character of Amal.

Throughout her journey as an influencer, she has been supportive of many causes. A few years ago, she used her following of over 2 million to amplify the voices of Black-Arab women. 

She also used her Instagram to speak out against harassment.
