LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The German action criminal series 'Crooks' is set to make its streaming debut on Netflix on April 4.

The series, which is directed by Cüneyt Kaya and Marvin Kren, is written by Benjamin Hessler, Georg Lippert, and Marvin Kren and is set against the backdrop of Berlin and the Bavarian region.

The story of the show revolves around, a family man who is compelled to return to his former life as a gangster, and does everything in his power to protect his family from the clutches of his troubled past.

Although critical information about the cast and characters is still being kept under wraps, let us shed some light on the key players in the series ahead of its streaming premiere.

Frederick Lau as Cherry

The German actor Frederick Lau will play the character of Cherry in the series.

The German actor, born in 1989, has appeared in numerous productions since making his official debut with the television series 'Achterbahn.' Lau achieved popularity for his acting chops roles 'Heart of Stone' and 'Victoria.'

The actor received the Deutscher Filmpreis (Lola) in 2008 for his part in 'Die Welle.'

His other acting endeavors include 'Chantal im Märchenland,' 'The Wave,' 'Asbest,' 'Die Discounter,' and 'Bibi & Tina: Einfach Anders,' among others.

Svenja Jung, who plays an unnamed character on the show, was nominated for 'The New Face' Award in 2017.

The actress made her screen debut in the 2014 television series 'Unter uns.'

This is not the first time Jung has appeared on a Netflix show, as the actress has already appeared in 2019's holiday series named, 'Holiday Secrets'.

Her acting credits include 'The Empress,' 'Spy/Master,' 'Deutschland 89,' 'The Palace,' and 'Sexuell verfügbar,' among others.

Jonathan Tittel plays Jonas in the series, and although nothing is known about his character in the series, based on the first look, it is safe to presume that he plays a significant role.

The young actor debuted in 2020 with an episode of 'Inga Lindström.' His other acting credits include 'Zwerg Nase,' 'Höllgrund,' and 'Fünf Finger sind ne Faust,' among others.

The series features Kida Khodr Ramadan, a German actor and filmmaker, in an unidentified role.

Ramadan was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and has received 14 nominations and four wins for his efforts in the film industry.

The actor made his screen debut in the 2003 television film 'Alltag.' He is best recognised for his role as Tony in the award-winning crime series '4 Blocks.'

His other acting credits include 'Man from Beirut,' 'Kanun,' 'Unknown,' 'Es Brennt' and 'German Genius,' among others.

Klara Mucci, who plays Alina Lonescu in the series, made her acting debut in the 2016 series 'Dobrodosli u Orient Express.'

Since then, she has appeared in several films, including 'Metropolitanci,' 'Day of Friday the Animal,' 'Moordvrouw and Sedmo Nebo,' among others.

Nicolas Wanczycki

Nicolas Wanczycki, who plays the character of the bodyguard, has starred in numerous films and television productions.

Primarily renowned for playing supporting characters, the actor made his cinematic debut in a role for two episodes of 'Research Unit.'

Later, he appeared in several projects, including 'Lupin,' 'The Climb,' 'Simon's Got a Gift,' and 'Love at First Fight,' among others.
