'Really enjoying it': Netflix's 'The Signal' receives high praise from fans for its sci-fi excellence

The latest Netflix drama, 'The Signal', digs into the convoluted disappearance of a space astronaut who vanished moments before arrival on Earth

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Amid the intense fan fervor, Netflix's most recent German miniseries, 'The Signal,' recently made its premiere on the streaming platform.

The four-part series, which is directed by Sebastian Hilger and Philipp Leinemann, combines a fascinating dose of drama with science fiction.

The series recounts the fascinating narrative of a husband who embarks on a journey to discover the whereabouts of his missing astronaut wife.

Fans urge others to watch 'The Signal'

As soon as the German series had its streaming premiere, viewers shared their opinions on X, with many encouraging others to watch the series.

A user urged people to watch the series and said, "Everyone needs to watch the new Netflix show The Signal." "Really enjoying the signal on netflix," wrote another fan.

Another viewer thought the show had potential but lacked quality in execution and wrote, "#TheSignal starts strong with a gripping plane disappearance. I was really invested in the first episode. But somehow execution faltered midway. Great premise & emotional core, but not executed & paced well. Very much watchable, tho. Could have been a great series."

A social media user compared the series with 'Constellation' on AppleTV+ and said, "I need to watch the most recent ep! I’m telling you The Signal is like the German version of Constellation. Reminds me of how similar #Dark and #Bodies are (also on Netflix)."

Will there be 'The Signal' season 2?

Following its recent release on Netflix, there's considerable curiosity about the possibility of a second season for the series. Unfortunately, the future of the show remains uncertain, as there is no official confirmation of a follow-up season at this time.

Nonetheless, the producers will gauge the fan response before making a final decision on a second season. Only after this evaluation can a definitive conclusion about the show's follow-up season be reached.

What could be the plotlines of 'The Signal' season 2?

The series' plot centers on an unusual space expedition that is supported by a billionaire who has a peculiar alien fascination.

Paula (Peri Baumeister) disappears during her return from the enigmatic mission, leading her husband, Sven (Florian David Fitz), and daughter, Charlie (Yuna Bennett) to look into the cause of her disappearance.

In a potential second season, the character of Charlie could be further explored as she steps out from her parents' shadow and develops her perspective on the world.

It would be intriguing to witness Charlie following in her astronaut mother's footsteps, venturing on a space mission to uncover additional extraterrestrial mysteries in a potential second season.

'The Signal' is now streaming on Netflix.
