'Cradle of Deception': Cast and character guide on who's playing who in Lifetime's thriller movie

'Cradle of Deception' formerly called 'Conceived in Lies' is directed by Soran Mardookhi

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Cradle of Deception' is set to premiere on Lifetime on Thursday, May 23, 2024, as a part of its 'Don't Mess with Mommy' series.

The film is directed by Soran Mardookhi and written by Hannah Robinson. 'Cradle of Deception' was formerly known as 'Conceived in Lies' 

The film stars Holly Deveaux, Matthew James Dowden, Jason Cermak, Brittany Mitchell, Panta Mosleh, and others.

It tells the story of Erin Treadwell (Holly Deveaux), a widowed first-time mother in search of a donor for her baby, who has a rare genetic disorder.

The search for a donor leads her back to the fertility clinic where her baby was conceived where Erin unravels a complex web of lies.

The movie features a diverse cast of both fresh talent and experienced actors who breathe life into this thriller about a mother who will go to any extent to save her baby. Here is a look at the cast of the film. 

Holly Deveaux as Erin Treadwell

Holly Deveaux is an actor and director who received her breakthrough role in the TV series 'Baxter' in 2010, portraying the character Emma Ruby.

After portraying various roles, she went on to feature in the TV series 'Hemlock Grove,' where she portrayed the character Jenny Fredericks.

In the TV series 'Spun Out' she played a major character Abby Hayes in 2014, followed by the character of Zoe in 'Mist' in 2017. In 2023, she appeared in the TV movie 'Our Christmas Wedding,' portraying the character of Nicole.

As a director, she helmed an episode of the TV mini-series 'Cross Rhodes'.

Matthew James Dowden as Charlie Allen

Matthew James Dowden is an actor and musician who plays the role of Charlie Allen in this film. He previously portrayed the character of Bertrand in 'A Series of Unfortunate Events'.

Following that, he took on the role of Alex Hardy in 'The Surrogate Scandal' and Warren in the TV Series 'Grease: The Rise of Pink Ladies'. Additionally, he played the role of Bronson Alcott in the TV movie 'Midnight Whispers'.

He composed the theme of 'Spotlight on Christmas' where he also played the character of Ryan Wrangler.   

Jason Cermak

Jason Cermack is recognized for his acting and directing work. He portrayed the character Dan Landis in the TV movie 'Eat Play Love' and had a small role in the film 'Fifty Shades of Grey'.

He portrayed Arthur Conway in the series 'Home Before Dark' and Randolph Cutler in 'Twilight's Child'. Additionally, he appeared as Arne Karlsson in 'American Girl: Corinne Tan'.

He has directed several short films including 'Irregardless', 'Creepy Jesus', and 'Occupational Hazards'.

Details about Jason Cermak's role in 'Cradle of Deception' are currently unavailable.

Britanny Mitchell as Diana 

Britanny Mitchell is an actress known for her appearance in the acclaimed series 'Altered Carbon', where she played a small role. Following this, she appeared in the TV series 'The Irrational' as Tori Lee.

She portrayed the character of Careese Wright in the TV movie 'Crime Time: Freefall' and later appeared as Bruhnilda in 'Bau, Artist at War'.

Panta Mosleh as Dr Alice Grey

Patna Mosleh is an actor who played the character of Carla in 'The Eviction' and Susan in the TV movie 'A Killer in the Family'. As a director, she has directed films like '12 Dares of Christmas' and 'Mother's Stolen Memories'

She has featured in character roles in 'Spidey and His Amazing Friends'. Her upcoming projects include 'One Must Wash Eyes' and 'Cradle of Deception'.
