Who stars in '1000-lb Sisters' Season 5? Meet the cast of the TLC show as they navigate new lives
DIXON, KENTUCKY: TLC show '1000-lb Sisters' Season 5 is all set to return with a stirring drama as Tammy Slaton and Amy Slaton navigate their new lives. In the previous episode, Tammy hit a major milestone when she was finally approved for weight-loss surgery.
However, in the latest Season, Tammy would finally be headed home to Kentucky after the surgery and 14 months in rehab. In the first look trailer, Tammy noted, "I lost almost 300 pounds, and I'm ready to conquer the world."
Unfortunately, Tammy has to leave behind her husband, Caleb Willingham, in rehab as wasn't been approved to go home. However, they connected through video call but Tammy was worried that Caleb was 'backsliding' in his weight loss efforts.
Meanwhile, Tammy's sister Amy was also facing big problems in her marriage to Michael Halterman. Amy navigates the pressures of motherhood and turmoil in her marriage to Michael in the new season of the TLC show.
Amy was quite overwhelmed caring for their two young boys, and her husband was no help.

'1000-lb Sisters' Season 5 features all the returning cast members from the previous season but new drama in their lives.
Tammy Slaton
Tammy Slaton would return home after spending 14 months inside a rehab facility. The reality star faced the difficult moment of leaving her husband, Caleb Willingham, in the facility only after a few weeks of getting married.
Tammy and Caleb tied the knot at Windsor Lane Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, but her newlywed life quickly turned challenging.
In June, amidst divorce speculations, Tammy faced the loss of Caleb. Compounding her troubles, she got arrested for marijuana possession and faced a charge of drug paraphernalia just a day after Caleb's passing.
Amy Slaton
Amy Slaton has also had a rough year with a domestic violence case, a child custody battle and a messy divorce with her husband Michael Halterman. Fans are expected to the turn of events which led to Amy and Michael's divorce.
In the trailer of '1000-lb Sisters' Season 5, Amy reached her 'breaking point' as juggled in her marriage and raised her two sons, Gage and Glenn. She turned to her sister Tammy for help and noted, "I just wanna be happy."
Amy expressed her frustration with managing the household alone and said, "Every aspect of my life is chaotic because I don’t have no support. I feel like I’m at my breaking point."
She further shared her desire for a divorce right after her older sister unhappily noted, "I really don’t see him changing."
Caleb Willingham
'1000-lb Sisters' Season 5 star Tammy Slaton's husband Caleb Willingham struggled to lose weight and had to stay back at the rehab until he reached his weight loss goals.
Meanwhile, as Tammy packed her bags to go back home, Caleb bid adieu to his wife with an emotional poem. Caleb recited the poem, "Sunflower, sunflower, God planted you as a seed in a field full of many, but you he meant for me."
The poem continued, "In fields full of green, representing the life that you have breathed inside your king." Tammy loved the poem and the newlywed couple held each other in a long embrace, Caleb promised the former to meet her outside the clinic soon.
The latest season could be the last time fans got to see Caleb as he tragically died at the age of 40 on June 30. Tammy, along with her family, attended the memorial service for Caleb in Ohio.
Michael Halterman
Amy Slaton's husband Michael Halterman rose to fame after debuting in TLC's popular show '1000-lb Sisters'. The now ex-couple crossed each other's path in 2015 and walked down the aisle in March 2019.
They share two adorable toddlers, Gage and Glenn. Michael has supported Tammy and Amy in their weight loss journey.
However, things changed after Amy welcomed their second child. Michael seemingly refused to take any responsibility for their kids which overwhelmed Amy.
Meanwhile, in the latest season of the TLC show, Michael and Amy had a huge verbal fight over money as the reality star accused him of stealing her debit card. Michael was also asked to get out of Amy's house the fight fueled up.
Meanwhile, according to the reports, Michael was also accused of domestic violence against Amy which also led Tammy to call 911. Fans are also expected to see the behind the curtains of the scenes which made headlines in the last few months.
Chris Combs
Chris Combs is Amy and Tammy Slaton's older half-brother and made his reality TV series debut in 2020. Chris quickly became one of the series' standout stars, when he began working on his own health.
Although the extended Slaton family has been known for its drama, Chris and his wife Brittany Combs try their best to avoid fraught situations. In the TLC show, Chris focuses on his health, which led to him getting bariatric surgery after losing 140 lbs.
Chris also supports his sisters Tammy and Amy in the weight loss journey and marriage woes.
Amanda Halterman
Amanda Halterman became a beloved member of the Slaton family immediately after '1000-lb Sisters' Season 3. When she isn't busy filming, Amanda works as a bus driver and transports students to and from school.
Amy and Tammy's half-sister, Amanda, has been known for her no-nonsense approach to handling Tammy. Meanwhile, in '1000-lb Sisters' Season 5, Amanda, who married one of the Halterman brothers, helps Amy to care for her sons during her weight loss journey.
She has constantly supported her during Amy's marriage woes. Additionally, she stood against Amy's husband Michael Halterman, and confronted him after he stole Amy's credit card.
Amanda also would take advice from Tammy and Amy as she considers undergoing bariatric surgery. She also meets Dr Eric Smith for the surgery.
Dr Eric Smith
TLC's weight loss surgeon from Atlanta, Georgia, Dr Eric Smith had treated the Slaton siblings, including Tammy, for years. Besides, '1000-lb Sisters', Dr Eric has appeared on '1000-lb Best Friends', and 'Too Large'.
He works at the Kentucky Bariatric Institute where Amy, Tammy, and Caleb Willingham had their weight loss surgery. According to the Institute's website, Dr Eric performs 'more robotic sleeve gastrectomy surgeries than anyone in Central Kentucky.'
In addition to working as a board-certified general and bariatric surgeon since 2006, Eric also served as a national proctor, speaker, and teacher for Intuitive Surgical in robotic bariatric surgery. He has also been a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons.
