Who is Ashanti's mystery man? R&B star sparks romance rumors after sharing photo on Instagram

Singer-songwriter Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas who is better known by her stage name Ashanti is notorious for keeping her personal life strictly under the wraps. So, when she recently took to her Instagram to post a bevy of pictures at what looked like a celebration, fans were in fro a surprise. One of the posts featured Asanti standing next to an unidentified White man. She simply captioned the picture 'Great times 🇲🇽🌴', and tagged celebrity stylist Alicia Sereno, the brand of her outfit PatBo, and the restaurant where the picture was snapped- Taboo Cancun.

The 'Foolish' singer slyly skipped tagging the man next to her. She posted another picture which is a group shot featuring her mother, sister, and even rapper Flo Rida. However, the man from her previous post was missing in the group picture. As soon as fans laid their eyes on Ashanti's latest Instagram post, they wasted no time in jumping to the conclusion that he must be her new man.

Who is Ashanti's new mysterious man?

The R&B singer hasn't left any clues to help us with the identity of her mystery new man. However, her picture sparked some pretty strong reactions on Twitter. Many were furious over the fact that Ashanti was dating a White man. A fan tweeted, "A colonizer took Ashanti how much more will this year take from me." Another upset fan wrote, "We lost Ashanti?!?!? To an Ivory Ingrate?!?!?!?" "Ashanti got a white man! The betrayal! It was supposed to be me! At least for a month or 2.," joked a fan.

Several other fans were thrilled to see their favorite musician find love. A fan expressed, "Ashanti is looking cute as always and this is a great pic of her and her guy. Wishing them the best. Ion't know why anybody is mad though... let her live her best life.." "POC attacking Ashanti for being with a white guy is the same level of racism as white people attacking a white woman who is with a black man. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Let people be happy in peace for Christ sake!," seconded a fan.

Another fan who seems to be impressed by Ashanti's mystery man declared, "If this is true, I want a detailed bulletpoint list on what this man did to pull Ashanti. He needs to be teaching Skillshare classes and everything."

Ashanti denies dating rapper Flo Rida

Earlier this month the musician was linked to rapper Flo Rida after he posted a series of pictures of the singer and himself vacationing in Mexico. Just as people were beginning to wonder if the 'Low' singer was the new lucky man in her life, she immediately shot down the rumors. She wrote on The Shade Room's Instagram clearing the air that Flo was like her brother, and there was nothing romantic between them. "Aht aht   Flo is my brother! We’re family! Celebrating my sis @liltuneshi bday!!!   Happy Birthday Bink!  ," Ashanti clarified. 

Ashanti was previously in a relationship with rapper Nelly. The couple dated for nearly nine years before calling it quits in 2012. The 'Hot in Herre' rapper reportedly cheated on Ashanti while they were together, and is rumored to be the cause of their split. Although Ashanti never confirmed it she, however, hinted at the rumors of his infidelity holding some weight during an interview. She said, "I think sometimes when people have their own insecurities it allows them to act out of character. I’ve been betrayed. Again, you just have to grow. You have to grow up and accept responsibilities for the things that you do. I’m not a big fan of people being cowards. I think it’s really important to know yourself and understand what you want and get it. I’m in a different place right now.”

She was also linked to rapper Joyner Lucas last year after she featured on his music video 'Falling Slowly'. Neither of them addressed the rumors, which eventually died down. Despite Ashanti's best attempts at keeping her romantic life away from the public eyes, her fans clearly are very curious to know all about her love life.
