Who is Maya Vander's husband? 'Selling Sunset' star reveals she had a stillbirth at 38 weeks
'Selling Sunset' star Maya Vander has shared an unfortunate update about her pregnancy with her social media followers. Vander revealed she experienced a Stillbirth, 38 weeks into her third pregnancy. She is a mom to two kids - son Aiden, 2, and a daughter named Elle who turned earlier this year. In October, she announced she was expecting a third child on Instagram as well as on the fourth season of the hit Netflix show where she lights up every frame she's present in. Vander's fans and co-stars sent her comforting messages after she made the devastating news public.
"Yesterday was the hardest day of my life. I had a stillbirth at 38 weeks. I always heard of it but never imagined I’ll be part of the statistics. Instead of delivering a baby, I get to go home with a memory box… I do not wish this on anyone. What was a regular weekly checkup turned into a nightmare that I never imagine will happen to me. Given I share my pregnancies in the show I knew I’ll have to post about this and avoid the 'when is your due date' question," Vander wrote in the caption on Instagram along with a photo of a memory box featuring baby clothes. "You will always be in our heart baby Mason," she wrote, concluding the tragic update. Amanda Holden and Chrissy Teigen too shared crushing details of losing their babies in the advanced stage of their pregnancies last year.
Who is Maya Vander's husband Dave?
Maya Vander is married to Dave since June 2017. She met him first at a Santa Monica bar in 2014, much before the Netflix show was conceptualized. "6 years ago I walked into a bar in Santa Monica and gave this guy my business card....now he is stuck with a crazy Israeli wife," she wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo of her husband and two kids. For those who've watched the show, Vander is bi-coastal. Her family lives in Miami and she works for the Oppenheim Group based in Los Angeles. She has mentioned Dave quite a lot on the show, sharing how supportive he has been of her career and all the craziness that comes with it.
Vander also revealed that she miscarried twice, on Season 1. She welcomed both her babies after she began filming for 'SS'. While most of her colleagues have appeared on the show with their spouse/boyfriend, Dave has yet to make an appearance on-screen but Vander reveals the chances are slim. "Unfortunately, he cannot be part of the show because of his job. He's in the finance business, so obviously it's a different environment. To be on a reality show in Hollywood is not a good space for him, but he's very supportive. He's very happy for me," she told Distractify.
Vander's co-stars who she also happens to be friends with sent in comforting messages to her in the comments of her post. "I’m so sorry Maya! I love you very much and I’m here for you praying for you and your family. Baby Mason will always be loved," the newest addition to the show, Vanessa Villela wrote. Chrishell Stause commented, "This is the unimaginable. It’s hard to find words. My heart aches for you and your family. You are surrounded by so much love. Here for you for absolutely anything you need." Heather Rae Young's comment read, "Maya I love you so much." Mary Fitzgerald wrote, "My heart is breaking for you babe. Sending you prayers, love, and strength."
Davina Potratz commented, "My darling Maya, it’s hard to find the words, I am so deeply sorry for your loss, it completely shattered my heart when you told me what happened. You are so strong and brave to share your story. I love you very much and wish I could be there with you, but here for you always." O Group's bossman Brett Oppenheim commented, "Maya I’m so sorry. I can’t imagine what you’re going through, but I’m proud of you for sharing, and allowing everyone to see your vulnerability, which I think will empower others to better cope with loss. I love you. I’ll call you soon, and I’ll be in Miami soon so I can give you a much needed hug." Christine Quinn wrote, "My heart is breaking for you. Sending all my love and prayers to the strongest woman I know. Your family is in all our hearts and prayers."
Amanza Smith wrote, "My sweet Maya. My heart is breaking for you and Dave. This is unimaginable. Please know I’m here and anything I can do I will. Holding you up in my prayers and with so much love." Emma Hernan's comment read, "I love you so much, my heart is completely broken right now. Sending all my love to you and your whole family during this time."
