NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The ‘Today’ Show reportedly witnessed the absence of half of its hosts during the '3rd Hour' segment, as NBC correspondent Vicky Nguyen filled in for them.

The morning show stars Craig Melvin and Sheinelle Jones were absent on Friday, missing the celebrations for their co-host and meteorologist Al Roker’s 69th birthday.

While the '3rd Hour' segment is typically hosted by Roker, Dylan Dreyer, Melvin, and Jones, this time two of the hosts were missing and were replaced by a fill-in host.

This weekend marks Roker’s 69th birthday, and his co-hosts are all set to give him a memorable on-air surprise. Recently, Roker shared a video on his Instagram revealing significant news about his health.

He revealed that he's been feeling "like myself" ever since his medical emergency at the end of last year.

Where are ‘Today’ Show hosts?

During the broadcast of the 'Today' Show on Friday, August 18, Dylan Dreyer and Al Roker were the only ones celebrating the weather reporter's birthday, along with guest Jon Batiste.

Surprisingly, Roker's regular co-hosts were conspicuously absent. Instead, Vicky Nguyen stepped in to fill their roles as replacements.

The hosts had an enjoyable time during the segment, savoring the delicious food that Batiste had delivered to their desks.

While none of the hosts provided an explanation for the absence of Jones and Melvin, they also refrained from revealing whether their absence was due to a particular reason.

This uncertainty remains, especially considering that the duo was present on Thursday's episode.
