Is Stormfront Homelander’s mother? ‘The Boys’ Season 5 episode may have dropped a major hint
This story contains spoilers for 'The Boys' Season 3.
There's no doubt about the fact that Antony Starr's Homelander is the most formidable Supe in the world of 'The Boys.' However, despite his impressive abilities and near-perfect powers, a persistent controversy continues to rage over his lineage and the identity of his parents. While it was previously revealed in Season 3 of 'The Boys,' during the closing moments of the episode titled 'Who Framed Buster Beaver?' Soldier Boy is indeed his father; the identity of his mother has been so far shrouded in mystery. Nevertheless, the mystery might be done away with, once and for all, if we were to take a closer look.
Homelander is the embodiment of the Nazi supremacist ideals propagated by Vought and is usually dished out to the general masses as the living symbol of an All-American superhero. The flashbacks to Homelander's childhood have been particularly disturbing, since he spent most of it in a laboratory and was subject to insane experimentation. A long-standing fan theory, articulated on the social media platform Reddit, speculates that Stormfront might actually be Homelander's mother, and the evidence supporting this argument isn't hard to find. For starters, Stormfront, otherwise known as Klara Risinger, was the first individual to have successfully received an injection of Compound V.
Not only is Stormfront the first Supe, but also the oldest. Like her husband and Vought founder, Frederick Vought, she too believes in the Nazi ideology. According to the comic book source, Homelander's age roughly matches the time period when Stormfront, who also went by the alias Liberty, vanished from the public eye. The relationship between Homelander and Stormfront was never anything less than complicated to begin with, since soon after her introduction in the second season of 'The Boys,' she was depicted as Homelander's se**al partner. On the other hand, it is widely known that both Soldier Boy and Liberty were active together throughout the 60s and 70s and had ample time to get to know each other. This is further attested by Soldier Boy's claims in season three that he and Liberty were the ones to host the first-ever annual Supe orgy. Soldier Boy also went on to remember Liberty as a 'firecracker.'
Therafter, given the fact that Homelander was born out of Soldier Boy's sperm, it is logical to argue that Vought might have artificially inseminated his own wife with the sperm. The result, thus, was Homelander. This theory would also explain some of Homelander's powers, such as his ability to fly. It is worth mentioning that although Soldier Boy never flew, Stormfront most certainly did. In conclusion, if the true identity of Homelander's mother were ever revealed to him, it wouldn't be long before he tears down the walls of his emotional balance.
