LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: On the October 19 episode of 'The Golden Bachelor', Sandra Mason was seen missing out on her daughter's wedding as she took part in a pickleball tournament. Fans took to social media to question the ABC contestant's choice to stay on the show to find her true love once again.
Sandra is a mother of two girls from Doraville, Georgia.
Sandra mentioned in her 'The Golden Bachelor' bio that one of her favorite things to do is spend time with her girls, along with thrifting, sewing, and playing racquetball.
However, when one of her children got married this summer, Sandra couldn't be there to celebrate - since she was on 'The Golden Bachelor'.
During Episode 4's group pickleball date, Gerry Turner was surprised to discover this, but Sandra stated that she had her daughter's approval. “She said, ‘Mom, I’ve got my guy. I want you to go get yours.’”
Gerry told Sandra on the Thursday episode that she should FaceTime her daughter as she was skipping her daughter's wedding in order to compete for his love. They were not able to get FaceTime to function for a minute, but they eventually got it running, and Gerry congratulated Sandra's daughter.
Sandra's newly married daughter was FaceTimed at home, and Gerry was so moved by Sandra's sacrifice that he awarded her the coveted group date rose.
Fans were left in disbelief as they took to X to write, "Sandra is missing her daughter’s WEDDING?!?!" Another person chimed in, "Sandra really missed her daughter’s wedding day just to be on the golden bachelor…"
