Who is Oliver Steele? Inspired by guitarist dad, singer appears on 'American Idol' in fifth attempt
MOUNT JULIET, TENNESSEE: 'American Idol' Season 21 auditions are coming to an end. The March 26 episode will feature the last set of talented performers who vie to impress judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan with their voices.
The ABC network's singing show has the viewers glued to their screens as one contestant after the other pulls on their heartstrings. Throughout the auditions, there have been many heartfelt moments that brought tears to our eyes - like when Cay Aliese paid tribute to her late dad Nolan Neal with an original song. The upcoming audition will see local Mount Juliet musician Oliver Steele perform in front of the judges. Oliver is the last contestant to audition for Season 21 and he gets his love for music from his father Toby Steele. Oliver's dad was a blues guitarist and was mentored by the Texas Troubadours. Who is Oliver Steele?
Oliver is a 24-year-old singer-songwriter from Michigan who grew up in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, and now performs in and around Nashville. He is the son of blues guitarist Toby Steele and was inspired by his father to pursue a career in music. He considers Jack Johnson his main influence and has sung some of his covers on Instagram. In mid-2021, Oliver started questioning his dream of being a musician but then he got the opportunity to be officially affiliated with Breedlove.
This is not Oliver's first time auditioning for Idol. It is his fourth or fifth time, but he has yet to appear before the judges. Unlike his previous attempts, 'American Idol' contacted him this time around and asked if he would return one more time. Oliver hasn't released any original works so far but he is working on his debut album. Meanwhile, he posts other artists' covers on his youtube and Instagram.

Oliver Steele on 'American Idol' Season 21
Oliver is the last contestant to audition for Season 21 of 'American Idol'. He is a singer/songwriter who describes himself as a "huge nerd" on his TikTok bio and is often seen fooling around with his cat. 'American idol' has released a brief clip featuring Oliver, where Luke says, "I am convinced this singer can make it to the finals after watching their performance."
For his audition, Oliver sang two songs: 'Change the World', which he said was his favorite song that his father had performed, and 'In My Life'. Watch the March 26 auditions to find out whether Oliver gets a golden ticket or not.
