Fusco got engaged to Jessica Barrett on the show. However, their relationship took a sharp turn when he made a jaw-dropping confession about feeling a lack of physical connection to his partner in the latest episode. While his actions toward Barrett sparked major backlash, the controversy intensified after TikToker Marta Stelmaszyk claimed she was dating Fusco before and after his appearance on 'Love Is Blind' Season 10. She also seemingly alleged they hadn't actually broken up when he joined the experiment, as per The Tab.
After recognizing him on the show, Stelmaszyk shared her allegations in a series of viral videos on TikTok. She introduced him bluntly, saying, "Let me introduce you to my ex-boyfriend: Chris. He claims he's 5'8", but I'm not here to argue with delusions." She went on to mock him, adding, "Are you in the market for a short white guy who is a walking red flag and thinks he's God's gift because he owns two pairs of designer sneakers? Then step right up, because Chris is your man," before listing his "features," including "horrendous communication skills." She also mentioned he would "ghost you mid-sentence and reappear like nothing happened." Once the clips went viral, fans quickly weighed in, flooding the comments with their reactions, with one user writing, "Never and I mean NEVER date someone who trash talks their exes."

A viewer shared, "You wanna know what’s crazy … I NEVER hear ex men complaining about the women in LIB. But only ever hear about the men … what we have to put up with as women is horrible," while another added, "No because he kept saying he wants to challenge someone daily and I’m like the last thing any woman wants is a man to challenge her." In another TikTok post, Stelmaszyk shared a beach photo with Fusco alongside an audio clip from their eventual breakup, in which he allegedly said, "Yeah, you're going to meet somebody? I hope they're a doctor; I hope they make a lot of money because that's your only hope in life."

According to content creator Caitlin Marshall, who has been in contact with Stelmaszyk, Fusco allegedly went on several dates with the TikToker before he was cast on the show. Around that time, he reportedly told her he was heading to San Francisco for a supposed business trip and claimed he wouldn't have access to his phone during the trip. Shortly after, Stelmaszyk says he abruptly stopped responding to her messages, effectively ghosting her while on the supposed trip, as per PopRant. Stelmaszyk was later shocked to learn that Fusco had never left Ohio at all. Believing the relationship was over, she cut contact, only for Fusco to allegedly reappear in her DMs after exiting the show. She alleged that Fusco admitted he hadn't been in San Francisco and said he was no longer with Barrett. Fusco and Stelmaszyk then briefly made their relationship official, though it ultimately ended badly.
