SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: After rumors that Laboum would be disbanding in August, it has now been reported that they are allegedly going through the procedure to split up and work individually. However, the girl group was pretty active as they were busy with several gigs like the 'We All Are One' charity concert for war victims along with the likes of B.I.

Well, on September 23, it was reported by Korean media outlet Joy News24 that Laboum would be suspending their activites as a team and would be focusing on solo endeavours. The report claimed that the Laboum members had made several strong commitments to their personal projects. This is why the girl group is planning on disbanding.

Laboum to reportedly disband

The first disbanding rumor in August had claimed that their label InterPark Music Plus was going to disband Laboum. However, they had rubbished the rumors by sharing that nothing had been confirmed. The rumor had popped up after a new company took over InterPark and had made it their subsidiary. Reports had flooded in back then that they had no plans in continuing with the curent management which had led to many wondering if Laboum would be disbanded.

While the first rumor was addressed, now a month later, the label has been silent on the disbanding report. TopStar News also claims that the Laboum members will not be renewing their contracts with InterPark but instead moving to new companies to focus on their solo activites. Another report suggests that they are just terminating their contract with the label but not disbanding as a group. There have been several groups who have left their labels but are active like GOT7 and DIA which has Laboum fans hopeful.

Fans are shocked but not surprised as the girl group had debuted in 2014 and had already crossed their 7-year contract with old members leaving over the years. Currently, Laboum consists of Soyeon, Jinyea, Haein and Solbin. They were pretty active in their early years with hit singles like 'Journey To Atlantis' and 'Aalow Aalow' which was a chart reversal song that peaked six years after its release.

One fan tweeted, "Shocked but not surprised. I'll miss them but hope they'll be happy in whatever they decide to do in the future." Another fan said, "I do really want to hear more from the members themselves abt what'll happen, bc isn't Topstarnews the same as Starnews? the source that spread "d-word in august" rumours when staff responded that wasn't decided at all??"  One commented, "LABOUM released this as their last performance and really expects us to wait for who knows how long until they reunite with a banger???? im flabbergasted."
