Who is Jason Warrior? Meet 'American Idol' contestant who got golden ticket after being ousted from 'The Four'
Jason Warrior was one of the few contestants who received the golden ticket on Sunday night's Season 4 premiere episode of 'American Idol'. Warrior came into the competition as a broken man. This was not his first stint on a reality show. 'The Four' was where he first competed. Jason didn't make it to that competition and ended up losing all hope.
For his 'Idol' audition, he went with Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On" and even though Lionel Richie had his skepticism about Warrior doing enough justice to the song because of its complexities, he along with judges Katy Perry and Luke Bryan were on their feet by the end of the performance. “Very few people can take a Marvin Gaye song and turn it into their song,” Richie said. “That was phenomenal. I’m going to ask you to forget all about what’s behind you, you got that? I’m going to say that was one of the strongest vocals I have ever heard on this show. I’m very proud of you," he added.

"That was serious man and your name is beautifully awesome, Jason Warrior. I mean are you kidding me? Bryan said. "I want to go buy that ticket. What are you doing tonight? Me and my girl we're going to dinner, we are going to see Jason Warrior," he said. Warrior had told the judges that his biggest supporter is his grandmother and in a dream, she had seen him in the top contenders on 'Idol'. Perry said, "I thought that was magnificent, your grandma's dream might be coming true," she said. She also told him that he was on the "wrong show" before, and now he's finally arrived where he can truly shine. Warrior left the audition room with a golden ticket.
