DALLAS, TEXAS: TLC is launching a brand-new series called 'Botched Bariatrics', which follows the lives of individuals who have suffered terrible problems after weight loss surgery. Dr Charlotte Hodges, a bariatric surgeon and expert in her area, takes on these patients to see whether she can correct the faults made during earlier surgery.
The American Board of Surgery has certified Dr Hodges as a board surgeon. Since 2011, she has been a practicing bariatric and advanced laparoscopic surgeon in Dallas.
Over 3,000 general and bariatric surgeries have been carried out by her.
Dr Hodges is pleased to be able to give her patients both medication and surgical weight-loss alternatives. She carries out all weight loss treatments, including laparoscopic revision bariatric surgery.
Dr Hodges also performs general surgical treatments such as laparoscopic cholecystectomy, abdominal wall and groin hernia repair, hiatal hernia repair, and laparoscopic anti-reflux procedures.
Dr Hodges evaluates each patient individually to identify who is the best surgical candidate. She also consults with you to determine the best surgical choice depending on your medical history, previous operations, and, of course, your degree of comfort.
Dr Hodges conducts all weight-loss operations, including gastric bypass, gastric sleeve, and laparoscopic revision bariatric surgery. She has also incorporated the gastric balloon into her practice.

'Botched Bariatrics' Dr Charlotte Hodges promotes monthly support group meetings for patients
Dr Hodges highly encourages that patients attend monthly support group sessions. Dr Collins Hodges, a qualified clinical psychologist who has also undergone bariatric surgery, leads the meetings.
The support groups are held on the first Monday of each month from 6:30pm to 7:15pm CST via an online GoToMeeting. The meetings are open to the public and are free to attend.
Participants get the chance to hear from people at various stages of the journey, from individuals considering bariatric surgery to others who have undergone the procedure years ago. The support group fosters a sense of community and safety, allowing individuals to share their experiences and provide support to others.
An increased awareness of one's struggles with food addiction and emotional eating patterns, strategies to correct problematic eating patterns, ways to increase compliance with post-operative instructions, and strategies to identify challenges and high-risk situations in an effort to promote alternative, pro-social behaviors and healthy food options are just a few benefits of attending. Other benefits include help with the dietary and lifestyle changes that come with bariatric surgery.
'Botched Bariatrics' premieres on Wednesday, May 15 at 10 pm ET/PT on TLC.
