ATHENS, GEORGIA: Dan Hoyt who goes by the name Donahue Diaries calls himself a "new generation artist." The Athens, Georgia native is about to make his appearance on 'American Idol' Season 22.
Besides being a singer, Dan is also a composer and multi-instrumentalist. He promises on his Instagram account to release originals bi-weekly. His Instagram is filled with him singing and playing different instruments.
Dan also releases his music pieces on his YouTube channel. He says in his bio that his YouTube channel is about "Fun Acoustic Covers and Reimagining of Some Classic Tunes."
Not much is known about Dan's family and history as he has not posted much of his personal information on social media. But Dan has a sister named Nicole Hoyt.
He also released his debut album 'What Is This World?' which includes 7 original songs in 2021.
'What is This World?' is the debut album from the Athens, GA-based Power Pop/Punk Rock group Donahue Diaries. The album features themes of "love, lust, deception, and inanity in a catchy, fun way!"

Dan's LinkedIn profile reveals that he is a substitute teacher at ESS. He "provides students with an education, while their regularly scheduled teacher is absent."
He pursued a Bachelor of Arts from Berklee College of Music. Soon after completing his studies, Dan started working as a substitute teacher and side by side started working on his music career.

The spoiler is generally spilled if the contestant moves ahead in the show. But in Dan's case, nothing has been reported about his appearance.
