SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: While fans were celebrating Crush's return after his mandatory military service, the K-pop singer surprised everyone by announcing a collab with BTS' J-hope. This caught the attention of ARMY (BTS fans) who know him as the 'OST King' for his iconic K-drama OSTs for the likes of 'Goblin' and 'Crash Landing On You'. Well, Crush is set to release 'Rush Hour' featuring BTS' J-hope on September 22.

Shin Hyo-seob aka Crush is an active K-pop singer and producer who majorly works in the R&B and hip hop genres. He debuted in 2014 and has several iconic hits like 'Just', 'Beautiful', 'You & I', and 'Hug Me' which have been covered by several K-pop groups. Crush is a popular name in the K-R&B community as he is friends with popular R&B artists like Gray, Loco, and Zion T, and was even part of the crew VV:D. He is now part of the leading R&B crew Fanxy Child with Zico, Dean, Penomeco, and others.

Who is Crush?

Crush had his breakthrough once he started dabbling in K-drama OSTs. His first OST was 'Sleepless Night' for 'It's Okay, That's Love'. In 2016, he secured his title as 'OST King' as he was responsible for 'Beautiful' for the popular K-drama 'Goblin'. A double-million seller, the single was pretty much the most-talked about OST in 2016. Crush kept up his streak as he then sang 'Let Us Go' for another iconic K-drama -- 'Crash Landing On You' in 2020. His last OST before he enlisted for his military service was 'No Words' for 'Itaewon Class'. Along with BTS' J-hope, Crush has also collaborated with some leading names in K-pop.

Crush's first collab with Zion.T for 'Just' was a chart-topper. He has also worked with the likes of Girls' Generation's Taeyeon, PSY, Epik High, Sam Kim, and Red Velvet's Joy. He was one of the singers roped in for the remix of the viral Jay Park hit 'Mommae'. His frequent collaborators are his crew members or friends like Dean, Sik-K, and Loco. Crush also won his first nomination at MAMA 2015 as he was awarded 'Best Collaboration' for 'Just'.

After leaving his first label, Crush is now an artist under PSY's own company -- P Nation. He has worked with several of his labelmates like PSY, Heize, and Dawn. In 2021, when he was in the military, it was reported that he was dating Red Velvet's Joy which the couple then confirmed.

On finding out that Crush is collaborating with J-hope, BTS fans made tweets like, "If I'm not wrong crush is that ost king guy?????? Like every fkin popular kdrama ost are by him and he is so so popular in South Korea." Another fan said, "YOU DONT REALIZE HOW HUGE THIS IS! Crush is very popular in sk and this is his first comeback in 2 years after his military service!!!! CRUSH FT. J-HOPE!!!!!!" One added, "And if you can't understand how popular crush is..I wanna tell you He sang this song which was the Goblin's ost .."
