The world first caught a glimpse of Jamie Foxx's daughter Corinne Foxx at the Academy Awards in 2005 and now the 27-year-old is an award winner herself with an Emmy for her work in 'Good Times', for Outstanding Variety Special (Live). Corinne's not resting on her laurels or her famous surname though and her latest project is as an executive producer on Netflix's 'Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!'. When we say the project is quite close to home, it literally doesn't get any closer. The show is inspired by Corinne's real-life relationship with her famous father who, believe it or not, does embarrass her.

Corinne in an interview with ET said, "Here's the thing, it never stopped. 'Dad Stop Embarrassing Me' continues to live on every day of my life. He totally still embarrassed me on set. I mean he plays music 24/7, so in between every take he'd be dancing, he's playing music, and I’d have to wrangle him in and be like, 'Dad, we have to go back to work.' So yes, he was still embarrassing me even on set." 'Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!' sees Jamie Foxx play Brian Dixon, a bachelor and business owner, who suddenly becomes a full-time dad to teenage daughter Sasha (Kyla-Drew). The series then navigates the ups and downs of Brian's relationship with his headstrong teenager.

Corinne may not be joining her father on screen in 'Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!', but she has done so several times in the past. Corinne, Jamie's daughter with ex-girlfriend Connie Kline starred alongside Jamie in 'The Jamie Foxx Show' as well as on the second season of 'Beat Shazam' in 2018. Before venturing into acting, Corinne made a name for herself as a model, making her New York Fashion Week debut in 2016, walking for Kanye West's Yeezy line. Corinne has also acted in projects such as '47 Meters Down: Uncaged' and 'Safety' on Disney Plus. Jamie, like many other fathers, loves to gush over his daughter and her achievements, which embarrasses her, but in the best possible way.

So what is the most embarrassing over-the-top gesture that father Jamie has made? In an interview with EW, Corinne who was a cheerleader in high school, said, "I was cheering at my final game in high school, and I look into the crowd and my whole family is there in T-shirts with my face on them. It's 15 people, and my dad is the ringleader. The last thing a teenage girl ever wants is their dad drawing attention to themselves in that way."

But Corinne has been able to forgive all the embarrassment because she knows it comes from the right place. Corinne says, "He's tried so hard even if he doesn't understand a teenage girl, he wants to. I feel so blessed to have him as a father, as somebody to guide me and support me, and also to show up for me. And that's a lot of where the comedy comes from in the show, is he shows up for Sasha, maybe not in the right way, maybe a little bit too much but he's still present."

Jamie is not just a hands-on dad with Corinne but also with Corinne's half-sister, 12-year-old sister Annalise. Embarrassing or not, Jamie is a top-grade dad. When asked how she would grade her dad, Corinne said, "A-plus. He thinks the world of us, and we can feel it. And that's really powerful for a young girl to grow up and have such a strong father figure in her life."

To find out more about the relationship Corinne shares with her father Jamie, you can catch 'Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!' on Netflix on April 14. Catch the trailer below.
