Jamie Foxx's split from Katie Holmes sees him spending more quality time with his two daughters
Hours after news broke of Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes' split after secretly dating for six years, the 'Django Unchained' star posted a photo of his two daughters on Instagram, seeming to suggest that being with his family was his primary focus at present.
The snap, taken at a taping of 'Beat Shazam' — the game show that Jamie starred in along with his elder daughter Corinne Foxx -- at Fox studio, featured Corinne, 25, and Annalise Bishop, 10, along with their proud father pointing smilingly at his younger daughter.
“#daddydaughtertime on @beatshazamfox,” he captioned the picture which he shared on Monday, in honor of the show’s finale.
“We’ve had an incredible season, seen so many lives changed, heard amazing stories and had a blast!!! Thank you to all u THE FANS for tuning in!!!!”
The caption also paid tribute to contestant Alan Smith who died suddenly in February, just two weeks after his episode aired. “Lastly, much love to our contestant Alan who is no longer with us but shed his light on all of us, God Bless his family,” Jamie added.
Although Jamie and Katie had been romantically linked since 2013, they had never officially confirmed their relationship in an effort to keep it private. The couple was last seen together at the Met Gala on May 6.
Recently, Jamie was spotted holding hands with singer Sela Vave as the two left Bootsy Bellows nightclub in Los Angeles, on Friday night. On the same day, an eyewitness told Page Six that Katie had been overheard telling a friend at La Esquina restaurant that she and Foxx “haven’t been together for months." Other sources also confirmed to both Page Six and E! News that the couple stopped seeing each other in May.
Three days after Jamie was spotted with Sela, a music entertainment source told People magazine that the couple parted ways in May. “Jamie and Katie split,” the insider said, also dispelling rumors that the 51-year-old actor was involved with Sela, a singer/songwriter and model, who has been newly recruited by the record producer.
"She’s just a girl he’s helping out, a young singer,” the source said.
A source told the outlet back in April that Jamie and Katie were trying to make time for each other as much as possible.
“When they can spend time together, they do. When they’re busy and they can’t, they don’t. They are two adults who enjoy each other’s company and have for a long time,” the insider said.
The couple first made headlines about their alleged relationship when they hit the dance floor together at the Apollo in New York in 2013 and danced to the tunes of Robin Thicke’s summer anthem, “Blurred Lines” and Jamie’s 2009 hit “Blame It (On the Alcohol)."
At the time, it had been a little more than a year since Katie had ended her six-year-long marriage to Tom Cruise.
