FRANKLIN, TENNESSEE: Kristin Cavallari, an American fashion designer and television personality who rose to fame through her appearance on the reality television series 'Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County', has recently shared more about her journey of coping with her brother's passing on her podcast titled 'Let’s Be Honest'. Tragically, Kristin Cavallari experienced a significant loss in 2015 when her brother, Michael Cavallari, passed away. In a recent episode, she had a conversation with Cindy Luffred, a spiritual medium and the founder of Revealing Soul. Cindy opened up about the work of a medium during the podcast, and Kristin shared her experience of connecting with her late brother, Michael, during a reading with Cindy.
In a social media post shared by Kristin, she and Cindy are seen discussing how Cindy picked up on details about Michael, such as his clothes and shoes, during their reading. This was significant to Kristin because she had Michael's clothes and shoes from when he passed away. She expressed her surprise at how Cindy accurately highlighted this detail during their reading in June 2023, which no one else knew about. During their conversation, Kristin also mentioned how Cindy "saw" one of her ex-partners getting a DUI. Interestingly, Kristin later met with this ex in Los Angeles during the fall, and he indeed got arrested for driving under the influence (DUI).

However, not everyone shared Kristin's perspective and criticized her for engaging in what they perceived as demonic practices by communicating with deceased individuals. One user commented, "I’m sorry for your loss, but that’s not your brother she’s talking to," while another expressed concern with, "Dangerous practice, don’t you know that these are Demons giving you exactly what you want to hear?" Another user expressed frustration, labeling the situation as "unbearable," while someone sympathized with Kristin's grief but advised her to consider the truth, saying, "Everyone is searching for meaning in life and loss is so horrific. My heart goes out to you @kristincavallari; however, this spiritual medium is channeling a demonic counterfeit to the HOLY SPIRIT Jesus sent to us when he died on the cross for our sins. He is the ultimate healer and redeemer."
How did Michael Cavallari die?
In November 2015, Kristin Cavallari's brother went missing after his abandoned car was discovered on a highway in Utah. It was later revealed that five days before his disappearance, Michael Cavallari had been arrested for possession of a loaded shotgun.
To raise awareness about her missing brother, Kristin posted a picture on her Instagram and expressed gratitude to her fans for their concern towards her family. Reports indicated that a woman had contacted the police, claiming that Michael had threatened her with a shotgun following an argument. Tragically, three days later, Michael Cavallari's body was found far from his vehicle. Initially presumed to be a suicide, the autopsy results later determined that he had passed away due to hypothermia. Authorities clarified that no drugs or alcohol were discovered in Michael's system.
Kristin Cavallari subsequently confirmed her brother's passing by sharing a photo of them. During an interview with a news outlet, Kristin expressed the family's pain upon learning of Michael's fate and mentioned that they were still coming to terms with the heartbreaking news.
Michael Cavallari struggled with mental illness and substance abuse before his death
Before his passing, Michael Cavallari was grappling with personal challenges, as Kristin Cavallari discussed during her appearance on Hollywood Medium. The reality star revealed that her family suspected Michael may have had bipolar disorder, noting his frequent mood swings and struggles with substances like drugs and alcohol, which exacerbated his condition.
Following his disappearance, Kristin's friend Patrick Kuehn said in an interview that Michael experienced paranoia, possibly leading him to abandon his car before going missing. "There was a level of paranoia," Kuehn said. "I think from what happened, he believed someone was pursuing him." Michael had encountered legal issues in the past, including a DUI arrest in November 2014.
He received probation, fines, jail time, and counseling as part of his sentence. Prior to his disappearance, he was arrested again for allegedly brandishing a shotgun outside an Orange County woman's apartment. He bailed out of jail after violating his probation on Nov. 23, 2015.
Kristin turned to social media to pen an emotional letter about her brother
After her brother's tragic passing, Kristin expressed her grief through a heartfelt letter on social media.
"My heart is shattered into a million pieces. Mikey, I could always count on you to bring laughter into my life. You had such a kind heart, and your absence will be felt forever. Words fail me, but I find solace in knowing that you are in a better place now, finally at peace," she wrote, concluding with, "I love you deeply. Rest in peace."
She shared these poignant words alongside a childhood photo of herself with Michael.
