'The Masked Singer' Season 4: Who is the goofy Broccoli? Signs point to Paul Anka, Bill Murray or Howie Mandel

'I feel like the Broccoli is a comedian. Bill Murray is a good guess actually,' a fan commented

The Broccoli performed on 'The Masked Singer' stage for the very first time on last week's episode during the Group C playoffs. Since then he's won the hearts of all the judges as well as the audiences watching the show, managing to floor them with his goofy outfit and even goofier personality that shone through as he performed "House is Rockin'/Whole Lotta Shakin Going On" by Stevie Ray Vaughan/Jerry Lee Lewis. The first clues regarding his identity were revealed in a special sneak-peek episode that aired a week and a half before the season premiered.

In the clue package video, he had said, "I'm a broccolean mean heart-pumping machine, that's how I got my six-pack." This along with his flashy jacket and the vibrant color-blocked outfit made it seem like it could be a young influencer under the mask. However, with his very first performance on stage last week, the judges figured out through his voice that the Broccoli is an older contestant. 

In the clue package last week, Broccoli said “I’m so humbled to work with the biggest artists," and the other visual clues that also featured in the clue packages included a soup can, a swing, peppers, iceberg lettuce, a baby, and the White House. Based on these clues, fans of the show feel that the masked celebrity is either Bill Murray or Howie Mandel here are a couple of reactions.

The way he sang reminded me of his skit on SNL as the lounge singer," read another tweet. 

"@JennyMcCarthy YESSSSS! I do think Broccoli is @howiemandel! It’s the first person I thought of! He is always doing funny things on TikTok.#TheMaskedSinger" wrote a fan. "I think Broccoli is Howie Mandel #TheMaskedSinger," read another tweet. "After a tiny bit if research...I'm convinced that Broccoli could be Howie Mandel! #TheMaskedSinger," read another tweet. 

Howie and Murray maybe popular guesses amongst fans however, if the visual clues in the video are accurate, the person under the Broccoli mask is none other than Paul Anka. Especially the soup can clue which is a direct giveaway. For those who don't know, Anka had won a trip to New York City through a soup contest that he'd won after spending three months collecting can labels. Also, the voice, take a look at any of his live performances on YouTube and it doesn't take much guessing after that to realize that it's indeed the legendary Paul Anka disguised as the Broccoli on the show.
