'Bachelor In Paradise' Season 8 is soon set to make its premiere, and the show promises plenty of romantic drama. And it seems to have already started out within the fandom. When bachelorette Shanae Ankney was announced to be on the show, the 'Bachelor' franchise fans seemed irate. So why is this cast member eliciting such a response from the fans?

Shanae Ankney first appeared in 'The Bachelor' Season 26 and quickly made a reputation for herself as a villain. She stepped in to replace Cassidy Timbrooks as the villain. Shanae was considered cruel when she made remarks about another contestant's ADHD disorder and reportedly never apologized. She soon had to leave the season in Episode 6 of the show. And now she has been cast as one of the contestants in 'Bachelor In Paradise'. With her history of insensitivity, her latest casting in the show's new season has enraged fans, some even calling her an ableist.

Who is Shanae Ankney?

Shanae appeared on Season 26 of the 'Bachelor' during Clayton Echard's season. She quickly took the title of the season villain and definitely ensured the drama was juicy during her time on the show. Shanae came in to replace Cassidy, who was told to left after Clayton confronted her about texting a so-called friend-with-benefits back home. Cassidy and Shanae buddied up quickly, and Cassidy even gave Shanae tips on how to steal Clayton's attention from the other women on the show. But Shanae took it into her own hands to stir up plenty of drama the minute she landed on the show.

Shanae on 'The Bachelor'

Over her tenure on the 'Bachelor' Season 26, Shanae was quick to start up drama. When another one of the women, Elizabeth Corrigan, didn't respond to something Shanae said, Shanae accused her of ignoring her. That conversation blew up into a heated exchange that anger trickled into Episode 3. When Elizabeth explained her reason for not listening to Shanae was a side effect of her ADHD, Shanae made fun of her disorder. Her cruel remarks earned her scathing reviews from fans.

And the rage hasn't died down either. When Shanae was announced as one of the 'BiP' contestants, many took to Twitter to bash the choice. "PLEASE DONT PUT #SHANAE IN #BACHELORINPARADISE #BACHELOR" one posted. At the same time, another said, They better not. #BachelorInParadise is my fave in the whole franchise. They better not ruin that for me! #TheBachelor #Shanae #ShaNoWay! One added, "So so stoked for #BachelorInParadise except for the Shanae part of it. I was even ok with watching Queen Victoria come back last season, but Shanae is a Bachelor villain I'll never ever want to see again." "Bachelor Nation we here you!" Yeah right then stop giving Shanae a platform jesus christ #BachelorInParadise" went on another fan. One pointed out, "Why tf is Shanae there?! She was a horrid person to everyone. I am in fact mad. #thebachelor #BachelorInParadise". A fan noted her treatment of other with, "Bachelor in Paradise hasn't even started yet and I'm genuinely curious how anyone could find Shanae attractive at all after seeing how horribly she treats people?. #BachelorInParadise”.
