Spoilers for ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ has hit the theaters and there’s a lot to unpack when it comes to this installment. From the very start of the movie, it had established that there will be several elements and an intricate yet easy-to-follow storyline. ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ did not fail to make the viewers laugh, cry, and even jump a little from the occasional jump-scares. However, some of the emotional moments of ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ really added to the overall brilliance.

Death is inevitable, especially when it comes to a franchise like ‘Transformers’ where there’s mostly action. ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ saw some huge threats, and that immediately confirmed all fears that the fans had: Someone was going to die. Everyone had theories and predictions of who was going to die in ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ but the actual answer might shock several people.

Who dies in ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’?

‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ had a lot of characters, and even that would be an understatement. Autobots, Maximals, Terrorcons, humans, and of course, Unicron, had a lot going on for them throughout the movie, so to actually guess who might not make it out alive wasn’t the easiest task. The beloved character whose emotional death shakes up everyone in ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ (minus the Terrorcons) is Airazor. Voiced by Michelle Yeoh, Airazor was the wisest character in ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ and a peregrine-falcon robot, which only added to her uniqueness.

The battle between Terrorcons, Autobots, and Maximals had a lot of characters injured but Scourge made sure of Airazor’s downfall, in a slow and painful way. Sadly, it wasn’t a quick death for this character. Instead, Scourge inflicted a dark energy on her, which changed her for the worse. She turned on the ones she once loved and would die for. Her death was especially emotional because of how conflicted she was, knowing that her time was over. She sacrificed herself, at the hands of Optimus Primal, leader of the Maximals. We would highly recommend carrying some tissues for this particular scene!

Close calls with death

While Airazor’s death was brutal, other characters also had close calls with death in ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.’ One which was anticipated and predicted was Bumblebee, and while this Autobot remained dead for a large part of the movie, the comeback was worth it all. They really did have everyone worried for a second! Another brush against death had viewers on the edge of their seats, and it was none other than Mirage. ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ had us convinced that he wasn’t going to make it, but they weren’t so cruel after all. May Airazor rest in peace, but Bumblebee and Mirage continue to thrive!

You can now watch ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ from June 9, 2023, in theaters near you.
