LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In the brand-new Netflix rom-com 'You People', things are about to become messier when meeting the parents, which is never easy. The romantic rite of passage is given an interfaith, cultural clash twist in writer Kenya Barris' debut feature film, which he co-wrote with Jonah Hill, who is also the film's actor.

'You People' has fantastic cast members including Jonah Hill, Lauren London, and Eddie Murphy, and is set to release on Netflix on January 27, 2023. In the movie, Ezra (Jonah Hill) and Amira (Laura London) delightfully negotiate the risky waters that connect passion and family.

Where was 'You People' filmed?

Filming for 'You People' 2023 took place in Los Angeles, California, and nearby locations, including the Skirball Cultural Center, Crenshaw Boulevard and Stocker, and Hollywood's fabled Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles. The production crew started shooting on October 20, 2021. Ezra Cohen and Akbar Mohammed, the two main actors in the film, can also be seen on Hollywood's Gowen Street.

In the film industry, Los Angeles is the Mecca for filmmakers. One of the obvious reasons is that it is the ideal location for filming Hollywood movies, primarily comedies. Warner Bros., Disney, and Universal Studios are some of the major film studios that call it home. These studios have a track record of producing quality motion pictures and have the tools and skill sets required to make big-budget blockbusters.

Thanks to the city's many districts, which range from the renowned Hollywood Hills to the beachfront enclaves of Venice and Santa Monica, filmmakers have a wide choice of options for shooting locations. The Comedy Store and The Laugh Factory are popular venues for comedians and humorous writers, and since the film is in the comedy genre, Los Angeles is the ideal setting for the production.

Apart from Hill and Murphy, the movie also sees Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Nia Long, David Duchovny, Molly Gordon, Mike Epps and more in pivotal roles.

'You People' will be streaming on Netflix on January 27, 2023. Catch the movie's trailer below
