Where is Jeremy Ford now? How Season 13 'Top Chef' winner is using fame to make his mark in the food industry
For Miami-based chef Jeremy Ford, winning the coveted title of winner of 'Top Chef' during Season 13, changed his life forever. Prior to winning the hit culinary competition show, Jeremy was an executive chef at Matador Room by Jean-Georges, in Miami. But since winning the competition, several new doors began opening up for him, alongside his newfound fame.
If you were wondering what the 'Top Chef' winner is currently up to, then we got you covered. Following his win, Jeremy quit his job at Matador Room and opened his own restaurant called The Stubborn Seed, in South Beach. Things have gotten very hectic for this single father chef. Now, his schedule is packed with several events, dinners, and out of town events.
While Jeremy is beyond happy and grateful for these opportunities, he is still trying to figure out how to strike a balance between his work and family life. In an interview with PEOPLE, he said, "I now have the opportunity to learn something new every day. The show gave me some fire, and I have more to get done. I am learning as I go, and I love it." "I’m definitely in demand right now,” he says of his busy schedule. “And it does get tiring. Some days after I take my daughter to school, I just want to go home and sleep until noon to catch up. But there isn’t time," added the chef.
He is also currently busy planning to set up his other food joint, Afishonado, in Miami, which specializes in seafood. When he isn't busy whipping up some yummy food for his customers, Jeremy makes time for his daughter, Madelynn. While Jeremy is over the moon with his win, his daughter isn't as thrilled. The youngster reportedly expressed her discontentment with her father's busy schedule by wishing that he had come in second place on 'Top Chef' so that he could spend more time with her. "Now that I have to travel, I don’t get to spend as much time with Madelynn as I would like. I can’t say no to things, and she doesn’t like it. She said she wishes I would have come in second place," explained Jeremy.
But things seem to be going really well for Jeremy, as he will soon be appearing on another culinary competition show 'Fast Foodies' on TruTV. 'Fast Foodies' features his fellow 'Top Chef' winner Kristen Kish, and 'Iron Chef' winner Justin Sutherland, competing alongside him to recreate and reimagine a celebrity guest's favorite dish.
'Fast Foodies' Season 1 will premiere on February 4, 2021, on TruTV.
