NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In a recent ‘Today’ episode, host and TV personality Hoda Kotb reportedly left from the middle of co-host Carson Daly’s PopStart segment while Daly’s fill-in, Jacob Soboroff was covering the segment for him.

On the ‘Today’ episode of Friday, July 28 Carson Daly was missing from his usual spot on the PopStart segment and Soboroff filled in for him. He has been missing the morning show quite often as he is busy fulfilling his duties hosting another show, ‘The Voice’. None of the hosts confirmed when Daly will be returning to the show, but his duties are well discharged by fill-in hosts.

Where is Hoda Kotb?

During the ‘Today’ show, Hoda Kotb abruptly left the middle of the PopStart segment to run another segment happening on the streets of New York. As Daly’s absence was replaced by Soboroff, he kicked off the segment alongside co-hosts, Kotb, Al Roker, Savannah Guthrie, and Craig Melvin. The ‘Today’ hosts honored the late musician and Eagles founding member, Randy Meisner, who died at 77 on July 26. While the segment showed several photos and sound clips of Meisner to honor his memory, the camera cut back from the hosts. However, when the cameras returned to the set, Kotb was nowhere to be found on the couch. The remaining NBC anchors continued with the segment and talked about Macklemore, Kylie Minogue, Kelly Clarkson, and Stephen Curry. When the PopStart segment concluded, Guthrie chimed in, asking, “Guys, where’s Hoda?” Instantly, the camera cut to the scene, Kotb was seen rushing out of the ‘Today’ studios, joining pop star Renee Rapp to energize the excited crowd gathered at Rockefeller Plaza, just in time for the singer's live performance.

Al Roker’s Summer Block Party fun

Meanwhile, it wasn’t only Kotb who ditched the studio to have some fun. A day before Kotb’s incident, Roker was also spotted having fun outside ‘Today’ studios. He was replaced by two fill-in hosts, Soboroff and Savannah Sellers. While Melvin, Soboroff, and Sellers hosted the segment, Melvin explained to the viewers that Roker was having a “very busy morning.” He continued, “He, in case you missed it, has been hosting an epic summer block party on the plaza. It's going on as we speak, and Al's going to be cooking, dancing, drinking, and corn-holing.” Melvin concluded, “We’ll check back in with him a bit later.” Soboroff mentioned that he had the opportunity to play cornhole earlier in the day during the block party. Melvin also acknowledged that both of them performed quite well in the game. The footage displayed Roker and the crew having a great time playing cornhole together. Even as the other hosts managed the show from inside the studio, Roker continued to host the block party outdoors.
