Where is Drew Roy from 'Hannah Montana' now? Everything we know about Miley's love interest
'Hannah Montana' wasn't just a teen show that one could set and forget. Spanning the better part of the 2000s, the Disney Channel show ran for four immensely popular seasons and eventually became a phenomenon. The show catapulted Miley Cyrus to superstardom, making her a household name worldwide. As 'Hannah Montana' celebrates its 20th anniversary on Disney Channel, the network is rolling out nostalgic specials to commemorate the show's enduring popularity. Naturally, this might lead fans to ponder the current whereabouts of the stars previously featured on the show, most notably Drew Roy.
Roy starred as Jesse on five episodes of 'Hannah Montana' from 2009 to 2011. He was introduced on the show as Hannah's guitarist and eventually became her love interest. There was a phase in the show's narrative when Miley chose her longtime boyfriend, Jake, played by Code Linley, with whom she had a recurring relationship, over Jesse. Nevertheless, Jesse didn't forget about Hannah and returned to her life after she and Jake had broken up for good. By the end of the show's final season, Jesse and Hannah were partners.
As of this writing, Roy has left his acting career behind and instead opted for a career as a certified jet pilot. According to his Instagram page, his life currently consists of flying jet planes and loving his family, which consists of his wife and two children. He's not exactly proactive on social media, and at times posts updates from his job as a pilot as well as photos of his family. Roy was officially appointed as a pilot by Delta back in February 2025, and his wife, Renee Roy, had taken to her Instagram page to post, "From Falling Skies to flying planes, I am so proud of this man! I know absolutely no one that works as hard as you. What you have accomplished in the last 6 years, most cannot do in a lifetime. I’m in awe of this. Of you. You impress me every day. We are truly ecstatic to be a part of the Delta Family. May I present to you, Delta First Officer Drew Roy! Whoop whoop!”
In the aftermath of his time on 'Hannah Montana', Roy had appeared in the 2010 film 'Secretariat' as Seth Hancock. He was also seen as Ron Goldman in the 2019 film 'The Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson'. Roy is no longer active as a professional actor, and his most recent role was as a guest star on 'iCarly' in 2021. He reprised his role of Griffin, which he had previously played in two seasons of the show in 2009-10. His other notable works include three episodes of 'Lincoln Heights' and the lead role of Hal Mason on 'Falling Skies'.
