While Mnet is known for its numerous K-pop survival shows, ‘Girls Planet 999’ was their most ambitious one to date. It had 99 contestants from South Korea, China, and Japan. Along with the mentors’ evaluations, viewers’ votes helped decide the girls’ ranks. In the finale, Chaehyun, Bahiyyih, Yujin, Dayeon, Youngeun, Yeseo, Hikaru, Mashiro, and Xiaoting were the top 9 contestants and debuted in the winning girl group Kep1er. However, other participants like Yurina, Shana, and Suyeon are now turning heads.

Yurina Kawagachi had ranked #1 in the first round of ‘Girls Planet 999’ and following that she was either #1 or a candidate for #1. Unfortunately, by episode 11 she was out of the top 5, and in the finale, she ranked #14. However, her fans have continued to support her and were thrilled when she shared in January that she would be making a solo debut which had fans wondering about the other contestants of the survival show.
