LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: CBS is set to premiere Season 21 of the beloved police procedural series 'NCIS'. Fans are experiencing mixed emotions, as this season will be the first to not feature any of the show's original cast members.

Ahead of the premiere of 'NCIS' Season 21 on Monday, February 12, 2024, let's take a look at where the Fab 5 are today and what are they up to!

What are original cast members of 'NCIS' doing nowadays?

Mark Harmon portrayed the character of Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs in 'NCIS,' earning him six People's Choice Awards nominations. Among these, he secured a victory for Favorite TV Crime Drama Actor in 2017.

Having portrayed Gibbs for 19 years, Mark Harmon bid farewell to the series in 2021 as his character chose to retire from law enforcement and embrace a peaceful life in Alaska.

Since then, fans have eagerly awaited his return to the screen. However, with no social media presence, getting a glimpse into his life has proven challenging for his devoted followers.

In 2023, Hello Magazine reported that he was working on a non-fiction book about the predecessor of NCIS.

Sasha Alexander joined the 'NCIS' cast as Agent Caitlin 'Kate' Todd in 2003. After two years, she decided to leave the show, expressing a desire to explore other opportunities. In a dramatic turn of events, her character met a tragic end, being killed by a terrorist in the final moments of the Season 2 finale episode.

Kate made a surprising reappearance in the 200th episode of NCIS; however, she did not rejoin the cast. Instead, her presence was revived through the clever use of footage from the second season, skillfully re-edited to seamlessly integrate her into the new episode.

In 2023, she made notable appearances, including an episode of 'Law and Order' and Apple TV's 'The Morning Show.' Additionally, she showcased her versatility by taking on a directorial role in the 2022 series 'Bull.'

Sasha Alexander maintains an active presence on Instagram, regularly sharing updates with her fans regarding both her personal and professional endeavors.

After departing from 'NCIS,' Weatherly took the lead role in the CBS show 'Bull,' which enjoyed a successful six-season run, concluding in May 2022.

Pauley Perrette left her fans devastated with an abrupt departure from the show in 2018. The actress, known for portraying Abby Sciuto in 'NCIS,' initially refrained from divulging the reasons behind her exit.

However, in 2019, she opened up about alleged multiple physical assaults and mentioned that she would never return to the show. In one of her posts on X, she wrote, "NO I AM NOT COMING BACK! EVER! (Please stop asking?) I am terrified of Harmon and him attacking me. I have nightmares about it."

In 2020, Pauley Perrette announced her retirement from acting. Following a significant health setback with a massive stroke in September 2021, she has opted for a more private life, maintaining a limited presence on social media and staying away from the media spotlight.

David McCallum

David McCallum, renowned for his portrayal of medical examiner Dr Donald 'Ducky' Mallard in 'NCIS,' continued to be an integral part of the show until his death.

Following Mark Harmon's departure from the show in 2021, David McCallum became the last remaining member of the original 'NCIS' cast. Tragically, the actor died just six days after celebrating his 90th birthday.

What is 'NCIS' Season 21 about?

Following David McCallum's death, Season 21 of 'NCIS' has marked a poignant milestone as the first season without any of the original cast members.

The upcoming season, consisting of ten episodes, is set to feature a cast including Sean Murray, Wilmer Valderrama, Katrina Law, Brian Dietzen, Diona Reasonover, Rocky Carroll, and Gary Cole.

The show is set to premiere on Monday, February 12, on CBS.
