Apple TV finally drops trailer for 'Your Friends & Neighbors' Season 2 and a new neighbor sparks chaos
If you thought you had seen the last of Andrew 'Coop' Cooper on 'Your Friends and Neighbors', then you'd better think again. Apple TV recently released the full trailer for Season 2 of the dark comedy-crime show. 'Your Friends and Neighbors' Season 2 is expected to premiere on April 3 with the first episode. The remaining nine episodes will then drop weekly on Fridays, with the series finale arriving on June 5.
The debut season of the show created by bestselling author Jonatha Tropper saw Jon Hamm's Coop hurtling himself downhill on both the personal and professional fronts. Being a successful hedge fund manager, the financial wizard was deliberately kicked out of his job after a complaint from an employee he had previously slept with. His ex-wife, played by Amanda Peet, slept with his best friend, leading to a divorce. Living on his own, Coop realized he would have to make considerable efforts to maintain his high-society lifestyle. For Coop, the answer lay in secretly breaking into the homes of his wealthy neighbors at Westmont Village and ripping them off.
The official plot synopsis reads, "In Season 2, Andrew Cooper (Hamm) doubles down on his life as an unlikely suburban thief, until the arrival of a new neighbor threatens to expose his secrets and place his family at risk. The second season welcomes Emmy Award-nominee James Marsden as the mysterious new neighbor, alongside returning stars Amanda Peet, Olivia Munn, Hoon Lee, Mark Tallman, Lena Hall, Aimee Carrero, Eunice Bae, Isabel Gravitt, and Donovan Colan."
The trailer for the sophomore season picks up directly where the debut season left off. Coop seems to have beaten the murder rap that hung on him and is on his way to achieving his goals of balancing a life fraught with criminal undertakings under the veneer of respectable society. "Life was complicated. But despite everything, I was making it work," says Coop in a voiceover on the trailer, "And for the first time in a while, the future seemed … promising.”
However, Coop's euphoria doesn't last long as the arrival of an enigmatic stranger soon stirs things up. James Marsden is a new addition to the cast in the upcoming season and will be seen as Coop's new neighbor, Owen Ashe. His suave demeanor and polished appearance instantly make an impression on everyone, with his grand welcoming parties giving 'The Great Gatsby' stiff competition in terms of opulence. Right off the bat, he describes 'Coop' as "complicated" and confronts him about the burglaries. He makes Coop a strange offer, stating, "You can help me out, or you can get arrested." As if all that wasn't enough, he even begins romancing Coop's old flame, played by Olivia Munn.
