'Pluribus' Season 2 gets promising update after Season 1's explosive finale cliffhanger
'Pluribus' fans just got an exciting update about the show's much-awaited return. The show, which premiered in November 2025, will soon begin shooting its sophomore installment. Karolina Wydra, who plays Zosia in the show, revealed to ScreenRant that the cast will begin filming this fall. This suggests the second season may be released sometime in November 2027. Apart from Wydra, the critically acclaimed show also stars Rhea Seehorn, Samba Schutte, Carlos-Manuel Vesga, and others, and the actress spoke about the bond they share while giving fans an update on their reunion.
"So, Rhea couldn't meet us because she was working. Samba [Schutte], [Carlos-Manuel] Vesga, and me, we met up for coffee yesterday, and we have such a beautiful connection, the four of us, and we genuinely love each other and care about each other, and we're rooting for each other," she said. "So, I cannot wait for us to be in one city, because Vesga lives in Colombia, so we don't get to see him that often. So I cannot wait for us to be together every day. So, I don't know when we're going back, but I cannot wait. I'm counting the days. Sometime in the fall."
'Pluribus' follows Carol Sturka, played by Seehorn, who is one of just 13 people in the world who haven't been impacted by the 'Happy' virus. Carol spends the entirety of the first season trying to figure out if she has a future with her hive mind companion, Zosia. They also build a 'paradise' for themselves, away from the brutal realities of the world. Unfortunately, reality hits when Zosia reveals that the hive, the rest of the population impacted by the virus, would use Carol's frozen eggs to harvest stem cells.
Carol ultimately decides to team up with Manousos, one of the other unaffected humans she met during the first season. Manousos is stationed at Carol's Albuquerque home, as he tries to figure out how the virus spread and if it can be reversed. The protagonist then makes a shocking entry in the scene, with an atomic bomb in her hands. She tells her partner in crime, “You win. We save the world.” The second season is expected to pick up from this cliffhanger. Jenn Carroll, one of the show's producers, shared that the team is currently in the writers' room concocting storylines for the second season. As per GoldDerby, she said, "It's going really well, and we're having a great time, and we're debating all of these things. We really want you guys to love what we come up with. We are working as hard and as fast as we can. We really appreciate everyone being so patient with us. But we do hope to be back in production before the end of the year."
