When will 'NBC Dateline' come out with new episode? True crime show to rerun old episode of Taylor Wright's murder and kidnapping

There seems to be a serious issue with the new episode's broadcast as there has been no word about it for the past three weeks

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: NBC's 'Dateline' is back in full swing with new investigations into thrilling crime stories from all around the country and beyond. The true crime show has been regularly telecasting episodes every Friday night.

But to the disappointment of the fans, NBC would not be coming out with a new episode this Friday. Instead, an old episode will be telecast on the channel during the same time. 

Why is NBC's 'Dateline' Season 31 Episode 41 not airing this week?

The new episode number 41 was supposed to air Friday, July 14 after the rerun episode of the Sherri Dally murder case. But it seems like the makers have decided to do another rerun from Season 29 this week. The network has not released any statement regarding its decision to rerun older episodes and not telecast a new one. 

Previously, episode 40 was postponed as well in lieu of the US Open Second Round that took place at the Los Angeles Country Club. Instead of the new episode number 40, the 2023 US Open Golf Championship aired on the channel.

When will NBC's 'Dateline' Season 31 Episode 41 release?

NBC's 'Dateline' Season 31 Episode 41 should ideally return after a week's gap. This episode was supposed to release three weeks ago but has been repeatedly delayed. The new episode will release on Friday, July 21 at 8 pm ET on NBC.

What to expect from NBC's 'Dateline' Season 31 Episode 41?

Nothing is revealed as of yet about the new episode of the current season of NBC 'Dateline'. There seems to be a serious issue with the new episode's broadcast as there has been no word about it for the past three weeks. 

The old episode that is replacing the new one is called 'The Necklace'. The description of the episode says, "Private investigator and former police officer Taylor Wright vanishes, but detectives think there is more to the story after her girlfriend receives strange text messages from Taylor's phone." The episode is reported by Keith Morrison and is set in Pensacola, Florida focusing on the 2017 murder case.
